If Matt has enough time on his hands...wild, crazy, gulch shaking ideas soon follow.
I stayed at LA over Labor Day weekend. This was my second trip there within about two months. Bottom line: The LA team understands brand loyalty and is committed to providing their guests an experience that will keep them coming back.
I'm a bit of a homebody in CR and like to stick around where I sleep. They come to me, I don't go to them...for the most part, unless Matt convinces me and a few other guests to pile into the van and head to Arcadias at midnight. The chica visitation policy at LA works well for me in this respect. If I want to sit at the bar in my PJs, I can, without being pawed by chicas. When I want to be pawed by chicas, I can walk one minute down the hill to SL or another 5 minutes down the hill to HLH.
A lot has been written about the great food at LA. All true. The pork chop is 5 to 6 inches thick and is a true masterpiece. What I like about the menu at LA is it's diversity. I was there for some dental surgery that weekend and was limited as to what I could eat. I never ran out of tasty options at LA. I didn't eat anywhere else during those five days.
A lot has been written about train noise. Not an issue this trip or last. Matt has hired crossing guards during morning rush hour and the train horn does not blow during that time. Evening rush is a different story, but is easily tuned out.
The staff is top notch. If you don't speak Spanish, no problem. I also recommend Hazel's sister (I forgot her name) for massages...I think I like her better than Hazel.
When I stay at LA, I feel at home CH
