Gersen wrote: It's free with One Lucky Dog, only for tips. I wasn't asking about One Lucky Dog. Besides, his fare for airport transfer is in the ballpark of a taxi. His services are no longer "free." I did not see a price for this service on the PVT website. I know taxis charge $30, and the Interbus shuttle is around $14.00 per person now. |

I apologize. I was trying to be helpful. I did not know One Lucky Dog changed his business plan. Are you sure it's no longer free and for tips only? He pushed that for a long time on this board so I wonder if that's true. I catch a pirate on the other level for $12. |

No problem. ![]() ![]() When I traveled frequently to CR, I liked to use the Interbus shuttle because it was only $6 one-way and the closest thing to taking a taxi directly to the hotel. Interbus now charges $14 something one-way. ![]() |

Blue D Pura Vida Transport is pleased to provide CRT members a 10 percent discount off its normal rates, plus two special deals for CRT members. Airport pickup (SJO) and transportation to downtown San José is $30 and transport to Jacó is $100 from the airport (SJO) or $125 from downtown. In addition to Jacó, Pura Vida also provides transportation throughout Costa Rica, so you can enjoy all the touristic vistas and beaches this wonderful country has to offer. Wing Nut |

It's been a while... how are you? Thanks, for the info. We are booked for a CR trip in mid-November. Looking forward to see some of the old haunts with a road trip to Arenal and Quepos. I will most likely use a rental car for that. Any plans of coming down to Medellin for a visit? |

i had never used Steve until my last trip. i know all the tricks and usually just take a pirate taxi to my apartment in barrio don bosco. have taken the bus but at this point i don't care about saving ten bucks if it gets me away from that airport and into a shower after a red eye. he's right there waiting, no bs, no excuses. took me to playa hermosa a few days later. early leave time, waiting for us down stairs. pick up at the beach early again, on time waiting again. he knows his way around and needed no additional info to return us to the barrio i call home in CR. besides being ridiculously prompt he was a wealth of information about just about anything. his rates to the beach were super competitive and again i could save some money taking buses and all but if you aren't on a nickel and dime budget this is the way to go. he's picking me up again for labor day but it sounds like his schedule it getting tight. great service will do that. |

Gersen wrote: I apologize. I was trying to be helpful I just used One Lucky Dog for airport transportation and was pleasantly surprise - the pick-up @ the airport was a flat $30 going to SL. The Dog had an ice cold drink waiting in hand - which I thank you for and as far as the return trip to the airport - it was just as prompt which was only $25. He was on time both ways - courteous - efficient driver with a world of information that I would use again. Thanks One Lucky Dog |

I'm sorry but why is it that people feel the need to immediately insert their favorite guy into a thread about PVT??? Go slobber his knob in one of the hundred threads that spam the board. This thread is for those of us that want to blow Steve ok? |

My opinion is they both abuse the board, OLD worse then PVT, directly or indirectly, personally or thru prodding. I did not know until today OLD did a bait and switch. Pretty shitty but I knew he was a bullshitter from back when he posted he lost a client because an AA flight got diverted to Liberia due to low fuel. He never explained that yarn. To his credit, he gets good reviews but that's the point here, too many blow jobs for PVT vs OLD. $30 ain't a good deal unless you are new to CR and have eyes like a deer in headlights when U get here the 1st time and need to be spoon fed to get downtown. |

agree to disagree but in regards to using a guy providing transportation vs. buses and cabs i'm not a newbie brother. w PVT i walk out the door and get in his truck and i'm gone. 20 minutes i'm home and like i said, for me its coming off a red eye so i just want to shower, Phuck my girl and nap a couple of hours if i grab the cab i'm saving like $13 maybe depending on the traffic. its usually more like a $5 difference. smaller vehicle for my luggage, walking upstairs, waiting sometimes. eh for the difference i'll go w comfortable and instant. as far as buses, sorry but no way i want to Phuck w luggage and waiting for a bus. $25 or whatever he charges me is cheap enough. jmho |
