Hey,
I'm heading to Medellin in September and my wingman wants to stay at this hotel. I've never been to Medellin and would like feedback if anyone has stayed there. He seems to like this place and I'm looking for an outside opinion. I would appreciate your info!
thanks

I have never stayed at Hotel Casa Blanca Laureles, but I am familiar with La Setenta neighborhood where the hotel is located. The hotel is located near UPB, on a quiet street. It is close enough to Cra 70 (where all the bars, cafes, and discos are), but a few blocks removed so you won't have to deal with traffic noise. This is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Medellin. COP$ 145,000 is a little high for a hotel in that area, but then again, it looks like a classy place from the website. If your friend likes the hotel, it probably is ok. If you are staying more than 3 days, see if you can get a cash discount.

Thanks for the quick response, I'm going to celebrate my 65th Birthday in Medellin and I'm hoping to have 5 days of fun! He has been there twice and I'm just double checking his recommendations. How far is this from the Mansion?
Thanks

I am guesstimating about 4 miles + or - from your hotel to the "Mansion" (aka Hotel Medellin Plaza). Unless you are an HMP guest, you can't enter the hotel. Medellin is a great place to celebrate your 65th birthday. I celebrate my last 5 here as well.
