What are your opinions of this place and do they charge Chica fees?

No chica fees.

Great place IF:

- you're looking for a tranquil and discrete sort of place that's still chica friendly
- you aren't looking for a place with onsite chicas
- you don't mind the commuter train noise
- you want a place with available suites complete with sauna and jacuzzi (not a jacuzzi tub, a full size jacuzzi)
- you have girlfriends who are reluctant to visit you at a known monger hotel like the Del Rey or Sportsmens but will happily go to Amistad

I love to hang out at the SL, but I usually stay at Amistad because of reason #5 above.

I stayed there for 8 weeks, every year for 4 years. The price, staff, and rooms were all very good.
Any time I had a problem, which were few and far between, Matt or his staff took care of it.

Does anyone know if "Hazel" is still the massage girl there ? I used to enjoy her in her ho days and she was FIRST CLASS SPECTACULAR !!! I believe she has given up the lifestyle and is now just a legit massage girl, she gives a great massage, by the way, and I'm not really into massages that much and most of the ho's here can't give a decent massage to save their lives.

Stayed there last March, and train noise wasn't an issue at all. A little advice though, if you're looking for a suite with sauna and jacuzzi make sure you ask about it; I took it for granted that all suites would have sauna and jacuzzi and that is not the case. Stayed at room 311 and it had neither; I had a full blown kitchen that I didn't use. Browsed thru some of the rooms and found that 312 had a sauna, but no jacuzzi. Not a deal breaker, but not as advertised.

I like the place. With a few exceptions, I've stayed there exclusively 5 times a year or so the last 5 years, ever since I got fed up with the Prez. Staying a week, ya get a 25% crt discount off the $69 queen room rate, so your rate is $52 + tax = $58 all in. Pretty good for a comfy room with a/c, a great mattress, & a flat-screen tv. Other pluses are an included cooked breakfast, no chica fees, a great location-2 min walk to sl, 10 mins or less to nf, hlh, dr, etc., & a friendly, accommodating staff who treat me like a king. I've always been a guy who likes to stay close to the action, but not on top of it, ie: the dr & sl. I like having the tranquilo atmosphere for breakfast & a bar area w/o hookers & loud music.
