Just received an email about the new Copa Club at SJO. The best perk seems to be Open bar with a variety of complimentary snacks, beverages and liquor. It didn't look that large in the photo but they say it's 6,350 square feet. |

I was there last Thursday (21st) and they were having the grand opening with lots of cameras and hoop-la. It is basically the same as the former VIP lounge and in the same location - just a different entrance. It isn't that much larger but just laid out a little different so it seems larger. The bar is in the same place and most of the same employees are working there. Agree with Skink about who can get in. However the bar is not open - alcoholic drinks did cost about $5 each. They have complimentary light snacks and drinks (coffee, juice and water) and a nice menu of items that can be purchased. Complimentary WiFi same as before. Previously one could pay about $30 to get in and get 2 drinks or a sandwich included in that fee. Not sure if that option is still available but it didn't appear that it is still available. Hope this helps. Woozo |

Woozo: That is strange. Every one of the Copa clubs I've been to have offered complimentary drinks. Some of the premium wines/liquors were offered for purchase. This is really good news. Star Alliance has the most liberal club usage policy IMHO. I've never purchased a membership, but have been able to use the UA/Copa/US Air clubs every time I've been flying for the past two years. |

I went into the Copa club in sjo yesterday afternoon, 4/15, before my return flight to the usa. It is located downstairs by gate # 4. My United Club membership got me in free. It has a nice comfy layout & alcohol & peanuts were included at no charge-I enjoyed a vodka/guava juice. A menu was available to order food for a charge. A nice perk to help get over the depression of heading back home! |
