I have not been to CR in six years I used to stay at the Presidente i believe there was a crt discount at one time or perhaps it was a tsm discount
wondering if anyone has stayed there recently and if they are still monger friendly. I know a lot of you like the sportsman i like the casino
and the suites at the Pres. If anyone will be there July 4th weekend the first round is on me! Thanks MD

No, No and No. Don't even think of staying there. Do a search on Hotel Presidente and you will see a myriad number of posts concerning the no longer chica friendly hotel.

It is not monger friendly and the News Cafe is gone--it is a phone store now-you won't recognize the place--you might give the SL or the Mona Lisa a shot this trip!

Wise choice - as others have pointed out, their "guest policy" has changed - basically you cannot bring a guest into your room - its a shame; I too, loved the place but their policies have driven me and like minded folks away.

I can honestly say that in the time I started O.L.D., I have not taken 1 person to the Presidente. No longer chica friendly and they closed one of my favorite morning chica watching, coffee drinking sport, the News Cafe. If it's Casino's you want the M.L. is a great spot. All the other venues are great a well and within walking distance.

I remember the old TSM discount of $45 a night with no chica fee and a very nice breakfast sitting outside looking at all the chicas walking by on their way to work. My last stay at PRESIDENTE, The doorman made me buy my chica a pair of jeans to allow entry because her blue jean dress was just above her knees.

I swore I would not comment any further on the Presidente, and their policies, but its like waving a red flag in front of a bull, I guess (So many great memories.... )

For at least 2 years before changing their policy to ban guests, their "inspection" process was arbitrary, and really annoying - seemed like every girl was on the "banned" list too - I once asked a desk clerk - "How do you get on the list - just show up?" At least he smiled.

And while I respect and support the right of every business owner to conduct his business as he sees fit, I never understood the reason for the Prez changing their policies (although I have hear many explanations ranging from an old lady taking over management to a "friend" of the owner staying there and getting ripped off by a prostitutite - who knows and who cares) - lets face it - a HDR it was not - you did not see girls in the bar for the most part, nor in the lobby - you did sometimes see a very few at breakfast after a TLN - but never very many. They came in, were checked in, and went upstairs - so you did not see a bunch of putas just hanging out - whatever; its been well over a year, probably 2 since the policy changed (and I'd argue in fact it really changed months before they announced it ) - so I never understood the big deal.

The "old" CRT pricing was very good, as was the breakfast.

Scuba you just don't get it. The people at the front desk knew you. EVERYONE you brought in was automatically on the black list. Even your cigars were on the blacklist. I don't think Wongs will even let you in for dim sum.

I certainly understand the negative posts about the hotel Presidente. To me, it's sad considering my relationship with that hotel over the years. Going back many years ago I loved staying at this hotel. It was well run and the news cafe was a landmark. Spent many early mornings watching the locals on the paved street heading to work or tourists passing by. Best chica watch in San Jose.

Mr. Mikowski, the owner along with his mother and investors did an admiral job in renovations to the hotel. And, it was certainly a great place to stay until around 2009. The lovely Catherine, second in command, served as a fine hostess and assistant manager and would make things right if problems came up. Why they closed the news cafe I cannot understand. And, their chica policy certainly was a finger in the eye for CRT members....who spent a lot of dinero at their hotel.

The hotel had a great history in it evolving to be a landmark establishment. I wrote an essay in June, 2005 about the history of this hotel. For those who have not read it...do a search on Presidente and you will become aware of the interesting history on this establishment.

As so many places have closed or became unpopular over the last several decades, I miss the Presidente the most. Rico (CRS) and our webmaster, Tomas, can attest to the good years of this once prominent hotel.

I will be visiting CR, perhaps for the last time, in May. I will not be staying at the Presidente but will walk by it on avenue central. As I do, many memories will creep into my mind about yesteryear. Probably shed a tear or two but will certainly know that there is an end to all things that we hold dear to our heart. Especially in CR.

I don't go back as far as Circus in my mongering and time spent in CR (although, my first trip as as a 21 yo backpacker in 1987), but I also have fond memories of the Presidente. It was the second place I stayed when I really started mongering, in 2004 (the first being La Gran via). I loved waking up after a TLN (and yes, I mostly paid the dreaded cien for it, and was glad to do so), with a chica and having breakfast at the News Cafe. It was a great place to meet fellow mongers and get information, and just watch the world go by. I had some amazing times with good wingmen, and loved to walk up the street for dinner at the little french/Italian bistro (the name is slipping my mind, damn) on the way to the Del Ray. After, I would hang out at the CRT happy hour when guys would meet nightly by the back seats, right as you walked into the side entrance. I remember one night with Scubabum, Vegas Bob, FLorida, Admin 1, and a few other guys when we walked over to TIn Ho and perhaps laughed harder than I have ever in my life.

During my first stay there, Wanda was still the manager at Zona Blue (HLH), and BLong Rachele still looked like Christiana Aguilera, and had already sucked 10000 cocks or more. Michelle was still at New Fantasy, and we would debate about who gave the best blow job in the western world.

My last stay there was three plus years ago-just when it started to move into chica-unfreindly status.I was still able to bring chicas in, and had an amazing time for a few days with a chica pulled off duty from HLH. I also remember pulling once chica for a hour hour Phuck feast that was perhaps in my top five fucks of all time. We made great use of the jacuzzi in the grand suites, which ere great.

Its not been two years and a few months since I have been to San Jose, and I miss it. I miss it perhaps like I miss the Presidente-for the memories that will always live on as good times.

I to miss the News Cafe--it was good fore the eyes and SJ not the same without it--I hope the PREZ goes under!--I think the name of the restaurant is Europa--very good food on the right going up the climb to the DR
