Greetings- I'm planning my 4th CR trip for this coming April - My 40th b-day. I absolutely love CR and can't wait to go back. I always bring a few newbies each time and enjoy seeing the continuous grins on their faces ![]() Anyway, we always spend a week in Jaco with a night in SJ on the front and back (1st night, last night). This trip will be the same and we have always stayed at the Copacabana. I know it's a bit of a dump but I've grown attached and we always have a blast. We've gotten to know everyone there etc. I have not been in 2 years and wanted to check in, get some thoughts on other places. My main gripe with the Copa last time was that they are turning it into a spot for 'nudists.' Sometimes there a lots of folks wandering around nude that really shouldn't be. Also, last time I was there the 'owner' required all the girls by the pool to be topless. I fully support this but he was also making them pay to sit by the pool. $5 or $10 I wanna to say. This 'fee' was a bad idea and girls would not stick around. Final gripe is that the guest fee was $25 I think. I got a break to $15 on 1 or 2 but it still adds up. I see lots of folks talking about the Cocal these days. I recall stopping into the casino last time but never stopped by the pool. It looks really sweet! I see they also own the Vista Mar Condo which also look great. I will probably be going with 6 to 8 guys and I want to stay at a beach front hotel. My questions are. 1. Does anyone know the Copa is still pushing the 'nudist' thing and/or fees for the girls poolside? 2. Are there guest fees at the Cocal and how much? Vista Del Mar? (I assume not since its a condo) 3. Any other hotel recommendations? Thanks! |
