Let me put a plug in for Scotland Apartments, third year staying here...

$ 660 a month, better Green Season rates, nothing fancy but good enough,

Nice neighborhood, flat, lots of small restaurants, I walk an hour every day.
( reminds me of Germany when I was living there.)

Walking distance to Auto Mercado, laundry is $5.00.
Internet,
Key required to exit gives you control over chicas.
No chica fee only Cedula chech in.

Helpful security guard, likes sandwiches and Fresca.

Taxi to SL is 1,000 c

PM fore more info.

How is the noise factor--from the street and from the next door neighbors?

Neighbors no problem,

some truck traffic during the day , car alarm only a little bit, YES there is a train, 1 block away.
Central ave is busy but difficult to hear ( 1 block away ),

I don't mind the train, part of the San Jose experience

The train rolls through each morning abut 6 am, car alarms go off almost every night and no one turns them off you just wait for the cycle. For a while the dogs next door would bark because they are left alone. Use to be a parrot that talked a lot next to my apartment. You can do much better for that price if you look around. It is over priced for what you get.

I second this. The old section is a dump. The new section is excellent but way over priced.
