Post subject:  Hotel Presidente--Ticas Allowed?

Are Ticas allowed now at the Hotel Presidente, and if so what is the charge.

I heard they stopped allowing them, and then I heard they started allowing
them again because they were losing business, and I wanted to find out what
their policy is now so I will know whether or not to stay there.

Yes, ticas (Costa Rican women) are allowed in Hotel Presidente. Some even work there. :|

Now, "working girls" are another story. Many prostitutes happen to be ticas... but you will also find nicas, Colombianas, Dominicanas, and many other latinas working in the world's oldest profession as well. Unfortunately, it appears Hotel Presidente has changed its policy, and is no longer "chica-friendly". So, prostitutes are no longer welcome at this hotel.

Boy, I find myself more and more agreeing with your posts, BD    :)

Take the Prez off your radar screen, Freestyle - and while we are on the subject of things you should forget, stop refering to working girls as "Ticas" - it simply means female Costa Rican, and using the term to denote whore is highly offensive to Costa Ricans - as well as guys in the know - it also marks you as a real newbi - does not make you all bad, and this site - CRT bears some responsibility for the mis use of the term :)

What hotels near Del Rey do allow them? When I am going Del Rey, SL and Morazan are all booked and I was trying to find where to stay that allows them.

Welcome to the board Freestyle. Hard to ask a question without a lecture here. Me, I guess I'm not as wise so will try to help. Maybe try Amistad, HLH or the Dunn Inn. They are several blocks away but not too far. Drawing a blank on anymore in the immediate area of the DR. And again, welcome to the board.

Freestyle.......

When you say "near the Del Rey", it's hard to know what you consider "near."

Go to the CRT homepage and look on the left side for SPONSORS AND DISCOUNTS. Look there for hotels that may not be as popular. There are many listed there that are in or near the gulch.

Also, the Talamanca Hotel is not too far away on Avenida 2, between Calle 8 y 10. I have heard that it is not too expensive, decent, and chica-friendly. But it's always best to ask the property directly before you book a room----unless you're dealing with a KNOWN POLICY.

If you are going to stay in that area I would pick the Royal Dutch over the Talamanca.

When are you going? Castillo is always a good choice if the others are booked. Pay cash and CRT discount and you cant beat the price, 100% chica friendly with no fee. Can throw a rock from the front door and hit Sportsmens and New Fantasy, maybe even HLH  Could also check HLH for a available room.

Did you try the Freebird or Hemmingway? Agree with ID the Royal Dutch.
