Last thing I 'heard' was he'd bought a nice place up in the hills overlooking San Jose and enjoys a quiet life. Can't confirm the accuracy of the information but came from a good source. You may try PMing Blue Coyote here on CRT but no idea if he still comes around the board...

According to best available info Sr. Eddie Rodriquez is NOT in SWFl. The logo for his hotel does live on though: http://www.worldfamouscigarbar.com/

Actually got to meet a guy that works with that cigar bar and according to him, the logo was originally used in Florida and Eddie liked it so much he brought it to HLH. Said he was a bit shocked his first visit to ZB when he saw it

fwiw i was talking w a local whose info is usually correct this week. he said he bumped into the guy last week and he has a place just outside of san jose and is relieved and thrilled not to have anything to do with that business and all its headaches.

OMG I use to go there all the time. There is local sports radio show that use to have live remotes there and it is a fun place. Now to go back there would be strange as it would bring way too many smiles to my face.

The owner of said cigar bar is a first class dude. There is one in downtown Ft Myers, and the newest version in Gulf Coast town Center off I-75 in South Ft Myers.

I don't blame him at all. this is the type of business that looks great on the surface but is a nightmare to deal with on a day to day basis. I almost got involved myself in this business until I got to really see behind the scenes. eddie was a stand up guy and my favorite memories were the old zona blue days before havana with some of the good laid back parties.

I will never forget and I am sure a few of the longtime brothers will remember.

I was sitting at the bar and for some reason some girl said something to another and a few heated words exchanged and before you know it pamela whacks some chickie on the face and in a matter of seconds you had a rumble in the jungle with about 7 girls all fighting like those urban black youths in a local mickie Dee's in some youtube video. I mean hair pulling, fist flying screaming.

I didn't even try to do anything since it was just a bit to surreal for me but cuba dave I think was the one that jumped in the group to try and stop it.

but across the bar at the entrance eddie came in and the look on his face I will never forget.

they even punched eduardo the manager

finally the lady administrator calmed everything down as eduardo dragged pamela out the front

I wish i had my camera phone this would have been one for the books
