I vote the Amistad as having the most comfortable beds in the Barrio Amon Hotels, What say the membership? Also the best suite rooms and great staff in Rodolfo and Carlos. |

I know many crt members are fans of this place, on a trip that I booked late sportsmens was full, so I tried Amistad and it started out good enough as I made my res over the phone, got there and recevied a different price (15 more a day) since it was only a 4 day trip I didnt leave as when I told the front desk about the price I was made out to be full of shit....not a good start, I get I would hope is the worst room, First floor, way in the back, open the door and the room is just the bed, as I mean that's it, no room other than the bed, and bathroom, the bed was ok, nothing that would make me stay there again.....the food was good, but just with the bullshit at check in and the room that I thought sucked and no internet in the room....I have never stay there again.... My non working gf wants me to stay in a hotel that wont have working girls that give her the stinkeye when she comes to me, and I showed her theAmistad and she said please stay there, but I cant get past the bullshit of my first stay there T |

I also think their beds are very comfortable. |

Well, I can tell you its not at the Molino Rojo (Late night low end strip club). This place has pieces of broke up foam with a piece of a sheet on top of it. I know I did not contribute to this thread but what I said about the 'beds' at Molino Rojo is true. A quite surreal place. Then again, what can you expect for 10k colon for 30 min ? |

I sleep really well on castillos beds. But then again I can sleep almost anywhere (slept a few hours on a barstool in the del ray lol). I'm normally pretty worn out from banging chicas, eating to much, and drinking that I could probably sleep on a concrete floor. |

La Amistad is my fave & never had any kind of issue with them either. Will be staying at HLH next week because LA was full, so will post my thoughts about that place when I get back. |

If you have back problems like I have the mattresses at the Al Amistad are the worst , which is why I don`t stay there. It is however a very nice place to stay if you don`t have any back problems. I now stay at the Freebird which has the best mattresses of all the hotels I have stayed at and a very good location . IMHO |

Unless the Amistad has replaced their mattresses lately they were the foam style, which people seem to love or hate. If I remember correctly the SL has the most expensive mattresses you can purchase in Costa Rica. Has anyone tried the new hotel on the corner as you leave SL and get to Av 9? |

I definitely agree with Joker about the beds at The Freebird...Very comfortable! Kind of funny, but I've had some late night visitors ask to spend the night rather than get out of these very comfortable beds and go back to work or home. Although it can be a challenge some mornings to motivate a chica to get out of these very comfortable beds and go on their way. But I always sleep well at the Freebird...must be the beds... -sport |

Need good beds at Freebird. Great owner, location, price. LOUD! You can hear every word in the other "queen" room, the back rooms are for backpackers sharing a bathroom. Right next to Ave 2, the busiest in that part of town, traffic noise all night, trucks, motorcyles up the ying yang, honking, alarms, the stupid chirp system red light warning for pedestrians, if it rains it is just a tin roof. Good beds help. |

the beds look comfortable but didn't get what is exceptional about them. Will like to know that. I am considering cost rica for trip in 2013. ![]() |

I have stayed at the SL 2 times and the HLH oce. I had no trouble falling asleep on my bed in the Sportsmens Lodge in Hermosa and Las Palmas. At the HLH, I stayed in rooms 220 and 215 and had no problems with the beds. Like the other gentleman on here who said he has back problems, I do also from a nasty slip and fall injury 13 years ago, my back goes out completely once in a while, but have had no problems with the beds at HLH or SL in the rooms I mentioned. |

Probably one of the best beds I have ever slept in, hotel or otherwise, was the Sleep Inn when it first opened. Yet, I have to think, that was several years ago, and after thousands of you guys pounding the feathers out of the mattresses, YMMV |
