I booked room #222 The Diplomatico for September 2012
At the HLH,I just read on the forums that it's right next to the bar and
Will be noisy. Would someone please recommend a quieter
room in the same price range.

Thanks

I stayed in the Partagus room #220. It was quiet.

I like 223 and 224.......upstairs on the 2nd floor and away from the bar. Both have windows that do not open. Both are on the street, but traffic noise is not a problem. The street is empty when I want to sleep.

Call or email Iveth Castro at the front desk. Maybe she can change your room if you'd like to.

I stayed in the "Punch" room(226) and found it quite elegant. However there was a problem with the girls going up the stairs in heels. Since the baris not open that late next time I go(March 2013) I will be requesting a room on the 1st floor beause of the stairs.

I chose the Diplomatico because it had a big mirror next to the bed. Do the mentioned rooms have mirrors also, especially the Partagus?

When you make a reservation at HLH, (or are thinking about making a reservation), ask about mirrors, refrigerators, stairs, chairs, etc. if those things are not clear in the photos on the hotel web site. You can use their email or their U.S. phone number for contacts.

The staff aims to please, so just ask the staff. Amenities can change slightly from time to time, up and down, since Brothers were last there, so just ask.

Something like a chair can easily be added to any room, and the staff would be pleased to have you pleased in a chair.

Both of these rooms are standards and have only a full size bed and are kind of small. Both are nice though but if you want a bit more room go for one of the queens or kings.

That room is also right next to the bar but is a lot bigger room than 222. It's handy having your room very close and I didn't find the noise to be a problem. IMHO the Bolivar suite is the best room there.

I have stayed in Room 221. It shares a common wall with the bar, so it can be noisy IMHO, especially at happy hour. Whether the noise bothers you or not may depend on whether you're busy in the room or busy in the bar at happy hour.

The HLH slows down at about 8-9, and the bar closes every day at 10 PM. So unlike SL, noise is no issue after 10 PM at HLH.
