Bilko- I think this is a fair enough question at ask. If it was ONLY about Tuna, and I do hope his family issues are resolving well, then I would say, yes, hands off. However, given that many of us have been going there for a really, really long time, I think it is fair enough. This is especially true for those who have reservations- who is there, on the ground, ALWAYS impacts the experience of the place, and Tuna has been great for that (from what I have heard).

Actually my calculated attack against the Done Inn is warranted. I felt Boyd got the shaft on that deal.
HLH is different story. Boyd is my friend, but owning and operating your own business has its trials and tribulations. If he has family business that is what I assume it to be. There is more than one owner in HLH
and you have to please the majority of them. Being a silent owner sometimes has its perks versus being
on the front. I have extensive experience in hotel and liquor sales. It takes a special person to work around a party atmosphere . Most people do not know the discipline it takes. I have seen many men succumb to
their weaknesses when it comes to alcohol and other vices. Boyd is excellent in public relations and that
goes a long way in business. I know I have my strong points and weaknesses like any other person. The
best thing is to be smart enough to recognize them before it becomes a problem an affects your life. I will support Boyd ,he is captain of his ship and he is the one responsible to keep everyone happy. Again I say Boyd is my friend!

I would not be surprised

Boyd has never had a good traffic record regarding his ethics and reputation in business dealings

let me rephrase

he may be a great goodfella with the boys and an excellent host and I am sure there are enough guys on this board that will jump to his defense but how about when you speak to other people he had dealings with business wise.

going from when he had the card game at the clarion thru the dunn Inn and now he is a small minority equity partner in HLH it's just a matter of time in my humble opinion that history will repeat itself.

it's usually how this scenario plays out.

I have had conversations with some of these people and whenever the conversation of Boyd comes up.. some truth reveals itself.

the money people keep silent because of the backlash of guys that start thier rant

kind of reminds me of when you say something against obama and the obama people (you know the 51% of then population that are on welfare food stamps or whatever goverment entitlement ) start thier rants.

anyway i wish him success and have to admire his ability to keep landing on his feet

It is pathetic when someone does not have skill enough as a writer, or have enough intellectual rigor, to make a point without reverting to cheap political drivel; regardless of their political affiliation or bent, Rep or Dem, Left or Right.

+ 1 more

I join with Brothers Hank Daman and Irish Drifter in condemning the coarse and unwarranted (and definitely unwanted) political statement of Don Juan de Marco. He also trashed a good man's reputation, presenting no evidence whatsoever (vague unattributed assertions are NOT evidence). This is not the writing of someone who wishes to be taken seriously.

I was there on Friday and spoke with a partner he is staying with the party line ( family business ) . I was told by a bartender at HLH he no longer works there .
