I have not been coming into CR via the Airport in several years. I have been coming by bus from Panama City. This trip I am back to flying direct from the US, I have heard there have been many changes at the airport. My question is, My wingman is coming in on another flight about 20 to 30 minutes behind me, I know there is a duty free shop in the baggage area, is there any other places I could kill time until he arrives and before I go thru customs and fight the mob outside the airport?

The duty free shop is upstairs on the same level as the departure/arrival gates. There is also a gift shop on that level and some snacks. You can kill a little time on that level before you go down the stairs to immigration and baggage claim. You can meet the other traveler at his arrival gate as he comes out of his chute and go together to immigration and customs.

There is a duty free shop in baggage claim. They are currently working on separating arriving passengers from departing passengers. I would imagine when that project is complete you will not be able to access the duty free shops on the upper level.

So, CR has standard services in the airport is it right? Is there any other measure should I take in the airport and is there anything i should be aware of?
