Is it important to have a hotel room with A.C in San Jose?

Personally, I never found it an absolute must at night in any season assuming there's a fan, but a great help in blocking street/other noise even if you only turn on the fan cycle.

I have lived in the western suburbs of San Jose for 9 years and have no a/c and do not need it. The elevation where I live is about 200 feet lower then in the gulch so the temperatures are comparable. Very occasionally during the rainy season I will use a fan at night. Not critical but does make sleeping more comfortable.

I'm an 11th generation, lily white Canadian who has worked much of his career in the Canadian high arctic and I used to absolutely melt in San Jose the first couple of times I was there. But I found after a while, I started to get acclimated to the heat and my on last trip down, I never even once had to turn the AC on.

I think it's more important to have a good set of ceiling fans in your room then to have AC. Most nights, just the ceiling fan on would cause your chica to want to snuggle under the covers :)
