Hi All,
I just booked room # 210 (King Room)at La Amistad arriving 6-19. It is a king room I am told and I have a few question for anyone who has stayed there.
1. I sit much bigger that the Queen Rooms.
2. I was told by Rodolfo that it has a tanle and Chair- Confirmation on this?
3. Is ther a window or windows in the room.
and finally...
4. Is it on the east or west side of the building?
Thanks in advance for your responses. If you feel there is any other info that would be usefull I would appreciate it.
Thanks!!

The room is fairly large with small bathroom.
there is room to put a desk and chair for your laptop which maybe someday they will do. The train is not a problem There is 1 small window which faces a wall. You only have to go up 1 flight of stairs

Room 210 is one of their "nicer" King rooms, Skyxchef. It is MUCH larger than the queens. Not a "little" as was posted above....or at least from my perspective. The bathroom is as big as any other king. Do people live in these bathrooms? It does have a desk and a chair; but it does not have an "easy chair" for lounging about. I do not believe it has any windows that open to outside air. It does have windows that open to the hallway or wherever. Still, it's a large room.

Rodolfo is a good guy and will not steer you wrong. He will not "overstate" what's what in a room to "make a sale". Carlos is also a good guy and will not steer you wrong, nor tell you something just to make a sale. Amistad don't work like that.

Much more space in that room; I've been in it and was impressed....at the "sale prices", I'd like it and deviate from my "normal" queen room on the 1st floor. As for east or west.....I get all turned around, so I can't help you on that. It strikes me that it's more dead center in the hotel. Too, I do not believe you're going to be troubled by kitchen or breakfast noises up in that area. I cannot comment on how effective the a/c is in that room; nor can I testify is it a typical "American style window unit" or a ductless mini-split. You can always call the hotel and ask.

hope that helps.

Steven1 thanks so much for the details as well as all your other info and help. The table and chair along with it being a larger room is a definite a big plus for me. I really appreciate your input!! Be well my friend and enjoy life! :!:

Carlos describes that very room in this fashion, "He won't find a better King room elsewhere, including here....". Carlos is a great guy as is Rodolfo as is Marlena....not to mention the housekeeping side and Luis who keeps all things mechanical working.

Don't forget the FREE laundry service (tipping the housekeeping person who does the work is nice....they'll even iron as requested) and the FREE long distance calls back to the USA from your room phone. Hell, people from the USA can call you toll free.....just have them call the toll free reservation number and have the desk connect them.....or if the person knows your room number....just input when prompted. (Let's not talk for a couple of hours on the line, though, eh?! hahahahahahha).

Too, I checked with Carlos: Don't forget to order that fresh squeezed orange juice from the cart guy in the am: leave the money at the desk and the juice will be waiting for you when you have breakfast......I myself am already up when the guy is coming by and like to BS with the guy......hard work....pushing that shopping cart filled with oranges and coconuts up that hill......; the juice at the Amistad breakfast is not 100% fruit juice.....the actual fruit is real fruit and don't be shy is asking for it OR for asking for more.....

Oh HELL YES.....Soda Akropolis is one of the many reasons I stay at Amistad! It's a mere one block up from Amistad and has the finest pasta in all of San Jose.

See for yourself here:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=34974&hilit=Soda+Akropolis

Easily, I eat at that joint 5 or more times each and every trip. Take my own salad dressing brought with me from the US of A; 1 bottle of water; a 100% cotton large napkin and eat away. I eat more salad at that place in a 2 or 3 week stay than I do the rest of the year....hahahahahahahaha......I understand the lasagna is fine there also, but I've never deviated from the pasta.

On the way out, always stop at the bakery and pick up 3 or 5 chocolate brownies which are also the bomb. (The bakery is in the same area where the soda is). Better than pusssy..... :P :P 8)

Rudi's "real first" name is Rodolfo. (hope I'm not giving up the ghost!!! ) He is most and very proud of it as well.... (Yankees have problems pronouncing ROW DOLPH O.....they're just wired that way....).

Address him as Rodolfo and see where it gets you. (Much respect.....a guy likes to be called by his real name, yeah?).
