In my opinion I would stay away from both of those. They are not very close to all the action and while I am unaware of their guest policies I doubt they allow it. You can easily find chica friendly places that are footsteps away from all the action, that will be far less headache and not to mention a lot cheaper than those places. Example using my dates in July that I will be going. Cheapest room at the Marriott Courtyard is $169 a night. My room at the Castillo with the multi day, crt, and cash discounts is $32 dollars a night. I'm staying 8 nights. That is a savings of $1096 dollars, that is 29 half hour sessions at HLH ![]() Places I would suggest you check out, in no particular order Hotel little Havana http://www.hotellittlehavana.com/ Sportsmens Lodge http://www.sportsmenscr.com/ Hotel Castillo http://www.hotelcastillo.biz/ (I have stayed here 2 times and love it, 3rd stay in a few months) Hemingway Inn http://www.hemingwayinn.com/ Hotel Del Ray http://www.delreyhotel.com/ Hotel La Amistad http://www.hotelamistad.com/ |

Thanks If I recall correctly, both are in Escazu, close to the Multiplaza. Both are faaaar from the HDR - you are looking at at least 15 bucks (guesstimate) each way for a taxi. And as Seawub said, you should double- and triple-check whether they allow "guests", and if so for how much $$ (e.g. the Holiday Inn downtown charges something in the neighbordhood of $75 per "guest"). Based on your question I imagine you picked those hotels because you're going down on business, possibly with colleagues. Staying at one of the known monger hotels may not be an option for you. If that's the case and you have to stay at a Marriot property, consider taking your working girl to short term hotels like Eden or La Oficina, or even book a "playroom" at Sportsmen's, Castillo, HLH or Dunn Inn. Whatever you decide, I would advise against getting a playroom at the Del Rey itself. $11 per chica and the rooms aren't very good. But it's an option, especially if you plan to only fish for pink snapper in the HDR pond. mh |

Unless they have changed their policy the Marriott Courtyard was chica friendly. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21706&p=215448 Of course it always a good idea to email them asking about their guest policy. If they respond positively print the email and keep it with with you when you check in and confirm what they told you. Hotels in Costa Rica know what you are asking when you inquire about "guests". ![]() |

All of thise hotels are dumps compared to the marriot. Not even the same league. Not everybody is looking for the cheapest accommodations, so its unfair to compare those. |
