Hello CRTers,
As promised here's my experience staying at the Hotel/Club M during recent Superbowl weekend. With a party of 4 I was able to book the club membership rate for 15 nights for $1000. With the recent Eric incidents we were the only guest for the first 3 days. I must say it was awesome and a great deal having the whole hotel to ourselves for a few days. My greatest praises to the staff at Hotel M. Special thanks to Alfredo (security/chef), Angel (reception/guide) JC (GM) for making our trip so memorable for everyone. I picked the master suite (of course) and had the time of my life. Can't go wrong with jacuzzi and outdoor terrace. 7 chics in 5 days. Hotel M had 2 girls at the bar and a hot bartender (Andrea) waiting for us the first night. We drank, chatted and 2 of by buddies took the 2 girls upstairs for the night. I took most of my stock from Del Rey and never a problem bring girls back and they checked out all the girls for our security. This stay surpassed all my expectaions and would do it over again in a heartbeat even you'll notice some amenities are not as well kept as before but definitely a steal if you can take advantage of the club membership. Obviously best if you can use all of the nights in one trip. One note - I believe the hotel is up for sale. There were several buyers visiting the hotel during the day. I will be back in May and hope it is still under the same management.
Thanks for posting an update about this place.
I found the place geographically undesirable, as well as expensive (in the past, although not now) but it filled a niche and some guys really loved it.
Agree w/ you 100% about the club deal - would not consider it unless I could use them all at once - waaaay too dicey to assume they will be honored by new owners (this is not the USA) or that the place will even be open in 6 months.
Lots of weird stuff happening regarding the downturn in tourism in San Jose - did you know the Hotel Balmoral (across from the the Presidente) is closed (although the res't, El Patio was still open as of mid January) - no great loss for us; maybe new ownership will reopen and make it friendly to our kind of business - its a great location - but being Costa Rica, that probably will not happen
