If you had a chance to rent an apparment in a great location for a low price but to get TV service you would have to pay more would you give up the TV for the low price and great location?

Of course--more money for chicas and beer.

I have a nice TV, its main job is to play back movies on DVD. There's a couple of current-run series I watch, I record 'em to my TiVO via rabbit ears. *shrug* Don't need cable with 500 channels and nothin' on.

This is't a good time to ask this question with all the College Bowl games along with the NFL playoffs. Besides I like my new 50 inch flat screen almost as much as I like the chicas

I barely watch regular TV anymore. In fact, I just keep a subscription to get the hockey games. Come the spring, I will probably drop it down to the lowest level again.

I couldn't live without high speed internet though. Over the last 10+ years of having it, it's become a "staple" of my day to day living. For entertainment, I bought a Boxee Box - basically a little mini media computer you plug into your TV and hook a hard drive up to. I download everything now and store it on my Boxee. I can also use apps to watch free music videos, replays of popular netwrok shows and series as well as a ton of other apps. It's also networked in to my home network, so i can move files around, watch from the computer, tablet etc. Fits my needs perfectly and only cost $199.

I agree, high speed internet > T.V. I do the same thing with my PS3 as you do with your Boxee box, very handy.

The internet gives me access to everything cable/satellite does at no additional cost, granted I have never watched much tv. The only time I miss cable is when NHL play offs are on.... I miss watching them in H.D from home.
