Hola, I just booked a week staying at Margarita Bar and Grill in Granada Nicaland. Has anyone stayed there and if so and advice or info would be appreciated. Gracias!!

not a reply to your request for info but my next trip i am planning a granada trip for five days befor san jose costa rica. ive been looking at the colonial and would also like info on that . corvet 59[ i think ] report was so good i have to go to granada. plus every regular i have in san jose is from there. might as well go to the tree.vet stayed at hospedaje valerria. i am still doing research and am lucky enough to have helped a guy in my line of work who has family there in the law force.

stay at Valeria on last trip. Very nice people,accomodations fine, treated you right. Stopped at Margaritas and talked with owner. He showed us the 4 rooms he has to rent. Fairly nice. Only question would be right off the bar area and might be a bit noisy depending on what time you hit the rack. Food in the restaturant very good and healthy portions. Nice area under a canopy outside if you you want to people/girl watch while eating or drinking. Girls will actually stop and approach you. Nothing aggressive, price is right.

Thanks Graywolf! The noise won't be a problem-I live next to train tracks and if I can sleep through that I think I can sleep through anything. Being right in the area with the people and "girls" is definitely a plus. I originally was going to stay at Valeria's but think I prefer bring right in the middle of the action and Margaritas to meet and greet and then a few steps to my room sounds perfect. Any day trips you would recommend?? Thanks.

Looked at the website. Looks pretty nice, I think I have passed by. Only thing I would have a reservation about is I couldn't tell if they had AC and I like it in Granada. Also didn't see a price, was just curious. Never monger in Granada so don't know anything about that.

I spoke to the owner bob. Good AC in each room 18000btu's and installed 8 months ago. Private bath $25 a night queen bed and hot water.

By the way I will be in town Jan 5-12. My spanish is above average and a think this trip will be great. Anyone want to wing let me know. The more the merrier

Well, unless you come back with a horrible experience, I will definitely try it out next time I go to Granada.

I would recommend you stay at Vallerie's due to the fact she will call a girl in for you. She also knows which ones are honest. Vallerie's has A/C and rooms are O.K and very clean.$35 a night. I will be returning in the middle to latter part of January for a month stay. I will negotiate price for long term stay.

carriage ride around town= 1 hr- $15. Boat ride out to volcano and around islands (1-3hr) $30.
If you are staying at Valerie's breakfast to order-$5 Also she will give massage/manicure and pedicure $40. Sorry,no happy ending. Very nice people. You are only steps away from Margarita's just around corner. Girls will ask $40 -settle quickly for $30 and will go for $20. Valerie will call a girl in for you. If you like,fine-if you don't no pressure.

Thanks for your recommendations, 59Vette & Graywolf69. You made a great case for staying at Valeria's which I have taken. I just spoke to Valeria and confirmed my stay there. I will be arriving Jan 5 and staying a week thru the 12. I really appreciate your feedback.

My 2 cents for your trip ....expect a different type trip (then san jose) days are very slow so you need to make plans the night before if you want some day action .....the night is good on restaurant row ...as you will find plenty of girls to play with .....$20 is the max I would pay for anything on the street ,,,,,

The disco on a monday night was packed with many girls wanting to dance with a gringo .....since I went to the club with 3 girls , I dont know what might of been the results if I started going after girls in the club...my guess is at the least I would of came away with a few phone numbers ,,,

Valeria is a clean place (you should be able to get the room under $35 if staying more than a few nights ,,,but $35 is a good deal ....dont be shy or you will miss out on pu*sy .....at night grab a table in the middle of the street and let the girls come to you .....

Find some of the gringos who live there and buy them a beer ...could be the best $2 you spend on the trip ....ask them about girls ...where they are and if they have a few numbers for you ....Have a great trip and write a trip report ......
