My chica is insisting on Dominical this time. I love Quepos but no choice. I stayed at Hotel Roca Verde a couple of nights maybe 8 years ago. I was drunk the entire time.

My questions are, is there another good hotel option, Roca Verde was fine but had a live band just blasting one night on the week-end, like until 3 am and I understand they still do that, and #2, I don't remember the beach being very nice, kind of like really rocky, did I miss something, did I miss a stretch? I vaguely remember driving a few klicks south to "Dominical-cito?", and that was an OK beach, but nothing else there (bar-food-toilet).

If you want a "romantic" type hotel in Dominical then this is the place for you:

You won't find $75 rooms here but it's not a budget buster either. Relatively new (opened around 4 or 5 years ago) and stunning hotel and a beautiful setting.

No, there isnt too much for your average North American tourist in Dominical. Most of the lodging is rustic, and lots of natural detritus on the beach. I didnt stay at Cuno de Angel, but did check it out when if first opened up. It looked like a nice place back then.

I've stayed at Cuna del Angel before. It was shortly after it opened. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. The only problem I had was with the air-conditioning. It didn't work well at all and it was so uncomfortable that I moved out of Cuna del Angel after 1 day. That was several years ago. Hopefully that's been addressed and assuming it has it's a terrific place to stay.

unless you like to surf. it was really expensive from what i could tell. my girl wanted to check it out so we went down for a night i forget where we stayed. it had great food and this above ground pool thing right out front. shes pretty far from high maintenance and she hated it. we left and went back up the coast. the sand on the coast was full of debris and rough. there is a really big hippy surfer element as well. not a big deal for me but kind of lowlife imo.

Jazz, I didn't post a website.

My bad--it was BondTrader's mention. Fixing the original would've confused the issue. Sorry.
