I read that too! I would have been expecting a lot more from the airline. The way everything is regulated these days, I'm surprised it was legal for them to take off like that. |

It is not legal. If you read the article carefully you will note that it said "That meant that, though he did manage to wedge himself into his seat for the takeoff and landing, he was unable to comply with the requirement that his seat belt be fastened at those times" |

I'd blame the airline. If someone is obviously too large for one seat, they should require them to buy two. |

fat person wins. just like all the poor Babi*s cruising their taxpayer funded scooters to walmart. anyone else note a marked increase in fat people in wheel chairs prior to boarding? i swear my last four flights it has been a minimum of 12 lined up. but that has to take the cake for worst open seat last minute passenger arrival. you are in your seat. everyone appears to have boarded and then your heart sinks as the sun is blocked out by some monster blob squeezing toward you and the now obvious only open seat on the plane. ![]() |

The airlines can do whatever they want and they Phuck the public at will, saying what are you gonna do about it? But if you talk regulating the airlines, political nuts go crazy. Amazing the world the airlines exist in. |

Amazing the world the airlines exist in. Damn true. If you're ever on a long flight and don't have reading material, get a copy of the Carriage Contract from the airlines. It's basically a big FU to their customers. |
