Sportsman's Lodge - not Lounge

Post subject:  Sportsman's Lodge - not Lounge
While planning a trip I was poking around on google maps and ran into something strange. There seems to be a hotel called Sportsman's Lodge. We all know of the Sportsman's Lounge in Barrio Otoya, but this appears to be near the intersection of Avenida 1 and Calle 1. Are they in any way related? Is somebody just trying to snag some business based on missed communication?

Seriously?

The Sportsmen's Lodge is the place you think you are refering to. It is owned by Bill and is supported by this board. I hope this is just a typo and you really are not confused on this....... Sportsmen's Lodge = in Barrio Otoya......

it is but if you look at the sl business card and website it is called barrio otoya as well. maybe there is a negative connotation with the barrio amon name? i always use amon when directing taxis. idk

I saw that also on google maps. It looks like that is were Joeb's is located at or the tico bar next to it.

SL is in Barrio Otoya (just barely). There is a sign on the Av 9 sidewalk, a few yards east of Hotel Castillo, that marks the border between the two barrios.

yes, you are correct. It is Barrio Otoya, it is pretty small, but an old neighborhood that used to house some of the $$$$ here in SJ.

There is no Sportsman's lodge but there is a Sportsmens Lodge (also called Esportsmens by locals and Nhhank) :lol:
