Anyone have any updates on the status of Hotel Tiquicia? A prior post said that the manager had left to manage the Hotel Hemingway and that Hotel T had closed. Their website is unchanged, but didn't want to make an expensive call down there if someone on the board had any info. Thanks!

As of today their website expired and hasn't been renewed. I hope this does not mean the demise of a well-liked hotel, according to reviews. I toured the place on my last visit, and was impressed. This is listed as a CRT discount hotel, so maybe our kindly Admin has some info.

Nothing like responding to your own post, but then again I have been known to talk to myself on occasion

Thanks Rinjin, for the news. They always have had a locked gate with a buzzer, like HLH, so I don't know if it's possible to tell by walking by, correct me if I'm wrong.

If The Hostel Tiquicia is in fact in play, somebody should scoop up this opportunity. 1-1/2 blocks from HLH and with an excellent reputation, this would be solid for a people-oriented SJO-knowledgeable businessman/woman. Who wants to stand up and fulfill a dream?

Is Calvin the guy that moved down to the Hemingway to run it?
