OK, I have tried booking at all the recommended locations for 27 Oct - 1 Nov 2011: -Sportsmens -Amistad -HLH -Freebird -Dell Rey -Dunn Inn All are booked. Are there any others in San Jose outside of the low end/budget or high end hotels that do not allow chicas? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks Bktuna and Cujo'S. I kept at it and perseverance paid off. Although it did not get great reviews based on my research of CRT, I got into the Morazan. It appears to be close to a couple of the places the site recommends for a visit. Thanks again for the quick responses. |

Actually, I was going to suggest that hotel - great location, especially if you prefer that part of town - stayed there a week ago and was charged $53 w/ tax - I like the place, but will be the first to say the basic rooms are, well basic - but I have always liked the place and have stayed there many times - just curious - what rate did they quote you - on line, there are some promotions going on, which they should honor. |

Scuba1, Thanks for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated. Morazan had Single Room available for the 5 nights that I will be there. So, I took it. I suspect that this will be the basic type room that you and what I have seen mentioned in CRT. I was given 69.00 per night with a 13% Longstay Discount. Works out to be $60.03 per night Tax included. Thanks again. |

Ck their website - see if the 20% discount still in place - if so lean on 'em some more - if not, still lean on 'em ![]() Its green season - you should be in the $50's - it never hurts to ask ![]() (In a nice way, of course!) |

They may charge $3 for a safe rental with a key. The elevator breaks down once a day and it usually takes several attempts to get a remote control that will work. That said I have always had a great time at the hotel mainly because of the location |

I called the Morazon for Royboy today all booked . Put on a waiting list. Myself and 2 others booked a month ago. They have new flat screens in the suites now. I don't know about the standard rooms. Pablo said elevator is fixed now last trip down 4 days. it's a hell of a walk up to the fifth floor. Is the Dunn Inn booked? |

Does the Morazan actually honor reservations now? There have been frequent instances in the past where they give your reserved room away if you didn't get there early enough in the day, i.e. nighttime arrival. |

Thanks boyd for teh recommendation And right across the street from Harry's Bar Poas--terrif Happy Hour attended by all manner of fascinating expats with a mixture of Chicas and other Latin locals. Food there is inexpensive and filling. |

I have been staying at the Morazon since 2003 and never had any problem with reservations. the only problem has been listening to Ricardo.Just give him a tip and he will leave you alone. |

Hotel Tiquicia has a good review , good location and very good prices. I`ve never stayed there but if I couldn`t get a room at the Freebird this is a place I would check out. |
