I just booked my trip ORD to SJO in Feb. for $386 total R/T on AA. This is the lowest rate I have seen in over a year.
In fact it's $200 cheaper than the package I almost booked last week. I wonder if the rates have come down like this in other cities too on AA.

Even CONtinental came down. I was able to get a R/T from IAH to SJO for $450.00 in Nov / Dec.....
For folks not from this area, thats a low price from Houston. Although several times a year they run a $199 special at the last minute, most times unable due to work or other plans.

I booked a trip yesterday on AA from ORD to SJO for late November $386. Same flights on Tuesday, 9-27 (2 days earlier) were $576. Like 2 weeks before that, same flights were $717.............crazy b*stards.

Good to see some downward pressure on the cost of these flights!! Maybe the start of something good........

Booked my January trip to SJO the other day, AA had had $515-ish for a couple of days, down from $570-$590, and the other major carriers dropped fares to match. Paid $522 BOS-ATL-SJO on DL, that'll end up giving me enough FF miles on DL for a free r/t in the continental US, and I won't have to deal with MIA coming back. It's also a reasonable schedule, with no long layovers and an additional flight from ATL to SJO that day in case I miss my connection at ATL. The only downside is that I have to get myself to Logan at ass o'clock in the morning but I have friends who can help me with that, and if all else fails I can splurge on a cab.

I figured I wasn't gonna do much better than $570, especially since a bunch of y'all said "just book it already" at that price, so I treated the sale like a windfall and jumped on it.

So I now have a plane ticket and a room at the SL. (Courtyard Wing, unfortunately, but I'll bring earplugs. Also useful if the chica's a screamer. :-D)
