I just found some relatively cheap flights to CR at the times I want on Copa. I know I'll take some cheap shots for this, but I am not familiar with these guys. I assume it must be Panama's line because that's where the layover is. Has anyone any info on this line? Also are there any problems with a layover from the US in Panama. (Pan. City) |

CompañÃa Panameña de Aviación, S.A., operating as Copa Airlines,[2] is an airline based in Panama City, Panama,[3] and serves as Panama's flag carrier. Its main base of operations is Tocumen International Airport, and the airline operates approximately 180 daily scheduled flights to 59 destinations in 28 countries in North America, Central America, South America and The Caribbean.[citation needed] Hope this helps..... ![]() |

I am looking for some specific info. Are they known to be on time? Baggage fees? Are there any hassles I might expect? Are there going to be any problems with a short layover in Pan City since I know I am going to have to thru baggage and customs? Also am I going to have language problems in Pan City, because my Spanish is weak. |

Lomo: I have never been delayed on Copa. I have never been charged a bag fee, but that might be because I booked with my CO Mastercard...I still don't think they charge for a checked bag though. I almost ALWAYS get upgraded to first class (happens on TACA too when I ask if space is available). Some of the cutest FAs I've seen have been Copa crews. Panama is easy to connect through. You won't have to go through baggage claim, nor immigration, unless you plan to leave the airport. If you are going straight through to SJO, just go to your gate. Only complaint I have about PTY is that there is no smoking bar there. Short flight (50 min) to SJO from there. Oh yeah, drinks and food are free on Copa.-CH |

I have flown Copa a lot, usually Los Angeles to Panama to Managua. Always on time. Always professional. Never a problem. Excellent equipment. I never check luggage so can't comment on that. LA Cowboy |

I flew Continental/Copa to Medellin last year. From what I could tell, the Airline is run just like Continental. The biggest difference was that COPA still served a free sandwich and beverage on a three hour flight, and the liquor was free. When I flew Continental last night they said the flight was to short for a beverage so they only offered us water. Cheap Bastards! |

I've made 10 trips or so with COPA, and always have been satisfied with its performance on the ground and in the air. |

Only flew with Copa once MIA to MDE, but was very pleased. They served a hot meal & had gorgeous FA's, at least on that flight. ![]() |

I just booked a fare on Copa in Business Class from LAX to SJO for $902 -- out the door for early December. I think that's a pretty good fare. |

That is a great fare for business class from LAX. I paid 900 a year ago for for R/T first class from IAH. They rape us here from Houston, and I have had it explained why, even though it makes no sense. |
