Does anyone know if this is a nice place to stay, and how far from the gulch it is?

Apartotel Christina is located in Sabana Norte close to Apartotel La Sabana which a number of guys here have written about.

I do not know anyone who has stayed at the Christina so can not give a report. To answer your other question it will be about 1000 to 1500 colones taxi ride. Easy ride to the gulch, about 10 minutes, close to some good restaurants and the Hotel Corbici casino.

Any new information on this hotel? Is is chica friendly? I am going with a couple of friends and this looks like a good place.

One nice touch there--the restaurant (L'Olivo) offers room service, although how early/late I couldn't find out.

Have stayed there three times...Not chica friendly ...This is more of a family and/or wife friendly place ...Hotel staff is friendly ... Stayed in the one bedroom suite which had full kitchen and living room ... It is more the kind of place you would stay if you were there for business, tourism or medical... In fact those are the only types of people I met there ... the price is okay as well ...the website gives all that information ...

The free breakfast is just okay ... There is a really great Italian restaurant on the premises open for lunch and dinner but moderately expensive ... internet seemed somewhat slow but i guess no worse than any other place i have stayed in san jose ...

The street side rooms are noisy as it is directly across from ICE headquarters building and employee parking, company trucks make for a rush hour(s) on this side street... Depending on the time of day the taxi ride to the gulch can be costly (rush hour traffic the meter runs)... it is a short walk to Sabana Park where you can find a variety of American fast food or markets where you can buy groceries to prepare in the fully equipped kitchen ...

It is a safe and clean place but nothing like the Presidente or Dunn where I have also stayed...

not chica friendly, loud traffic, if you want something like that, ie kitchen etc, do lasabana aparthotel, near cristina, also not chica friendly, but much quieter and alot nicer, great bk, same price.
