Its my first time back to CR since 2003 (2nd only) and Im going to have 2 nights to have fun by myself before .I meet up with others.

Last time I was in CR I spent a few days at the Holiday inn across from the HDR and I spent most of my time between Key Largo and DR. I really enjoyed my time and before I found this forum was planning on staying directly at the DR. But now Im really torn and think I need to consider the SL.

My questions would be would it be worth staying at each place 1 night or would it be easier to pick one and stick with it? Also if I do stay at the SL is it easy to bring friends from the DR back?

Its going to be extremely hard to be in CR and not stop in at the DR after so many great memories last trip so any help would be great.

Also I would like to give a big Thanks to all, for all the useful Intel on this forum.

I will be in the area Sept 7-9!

Cant wait

I have stayed at SL several times and never had an issue bringing HDR talent back with me. No guest fee or anything like that. The SL does have them show ID and they check a list of names not to be permitted entrance but that is for your protection. The whole guest check-in takes all of three to five minutes but I believe it is well worth the added security. Given the option between staying at HDR and SL the choice is easy....SL. Just take a taxi at night back and forth from the Rey when you are mongering.

depends on what quality you want. del rey is the last choice to stay, loud, loud, over priced, outdated, on and on. sl is better and no chica fee. holiday inn wants 80 bucks to bring a girl. sleep inn next door to dr is my choice because it is new construction so third floor facing dr is very quiet--most important on my agenda and quiet is hard to find in the gulch, very nice by gringo standards, and great free breakfast, though they want twenty five bucks to bring a girl. also, brng your own wireless cord/plug, they want 12 bucks to rent theirs.

I would stay at the SL or LA or HLH. The Del Rey is not the place to stay IMO.

I agree with Arlo. It's much easier to bring a guest back to the SL than taking a guest from the SL to the DR. Many girls that are at the SL are there because the don't care for the DR or don't want to be seen.

Good luck

Maybe so, Mike :)
But since I'm speaking/posting for a constituency of one - me - well, that's implied.

But that seems to be the majority consensus on the board; other places give you better value for the money (And not just HLH or Sportsmans, although they do) - I've posted numerous times why I feel the way I do; I will not bore you with the many reasons why I feel the way I do about the place.

I have stayed at the HDR, and have well over 30 trips to CR over the past 15 years, so its not my first rodeo - yeah, I have some strong opinions, but agree or disagree, they are based upon my experiences over many trips over many years  :P :)

This is easily solved. Post a poll with one question: "At which hotel do you prefer to stay, HDR or SL?".

I think I already know which one will win. :D

sorry, i meant dsl cable, not wireless, for direct connection from your computer to their wall outlet in the rooms. they will rent you one for 12 bucks. they have free wireless downstairs in the kitchen/reception area.

Another vote for Sleep Inn. They do have a $25 girl fee, but they have a free airport shuttle. So, the money you spend on a couple of girl fees you make up for by not paying a taxi both ways.
