Been a long time patron of ZB/HLH and on my last visit, in Dec. 2010, I could feel that the place had lost some of its luster and was becoming a bit tired. Glad to report, after a recent 5 day stay in June, that Boyd's addition to HLH staff has created revitalization.
Much like the British chef Gordon Ramsey on the TV show Kitchen Nightmares (IMHO, the BBC version is much better than the one on FOX), Boyd has instituted a myriad of changes, both big and small, that enhanced the guest experience, created a more professional environment and has groomed a happy and content staff. The wi-fi is now on consistently on in the hotel wing, requests to the front desk are handled more professionally and the happy hour at the bar guarantees a party will break out daily at 5pm. If you’re lucky, Boyd may break out some of his champion dance steps for you. With sandwiches, a kitchen and live music on the way, I envision a lively future for the bar.
HLH has always been my second home in SJ. I like the fact that I can create my own little bachelor pad in the room (with a few bottles from duty free and some mood music from my ipod), the girls are right down the hall and I have little concerns regarding my safety and security. While all the chicas at HLH might not all be 10’s, I see them more as the “Ticas next door†that, at a minimum, provide a base level of service (unlike HDR chicas who may say one thing at the bar but then fail to deliver en cama). I also agree with a recent CRT post saying that with HLH girls, being a repeat and respectful customer will yield huge dividends.
Again, thanks to Boyd whose hard work has restored this temple to the mongering hobby in CR. I'm looking forward to my return.
Pura Vida, Lance
