Post subject:  Dunn Inn
Had a great time at the Dunn Inn this Holiday Weekend!! Jack the owner and Guy are really great guys and treat you like old friends. I highly recommend for anyone needing an excellent hotel to stay at when visiting San Jose. The staff also deserves mention as they are wonderful!

Was there 10 days ago and I have to say I was very impressed with the whole operation. Facilities are really sharp, staff is top notch and the food is very good and reasonably priced. My special ordered the shrimp although it was a bit pricey it was excellent and well worth the price, I had the burger and fries which again was excellent.

Too bad they will never overcome their reputation as underhanded scum. They won't get a penny of my money or a recommendation from me as long as the situation remains unresolved.

And don't be surprised if you are treated with disdain for mentioning that you stayed there. :evil:

as you guys can see there is a group of crt members who find the dunn inn to be banned due to thier friendship with boyd.all i can say is try things for yourself, my stays there have excelent, the staff the management and the crt friends i meet there far outweigh the negative reports. infact on the last stay there were two guys who worked in afganistan that decided to move there rather than stay at one of the other crt {herd} recomended sites. they couldnt believe how they had been bull shitted.(about the dunn inn)

Oh, its no BS. The Dunn Inn used Boyd to do all the leg work in getting their little casino up and rolling, then tossed him like a well used condom. Some of us on CRT are loyal to our own and don't frequent places that shit on our friends.

Some of you guys can not figure this out. The winner in the whole deal is Boyd. Yes Boyd wins here. He had not one dime of his money tied up in this bad business idea. He was paid to do the legwork and he was lucky to be fired . He came out on his feet at LH and is not on the hook for the costs of the bad investment. Not shame on the DI but Thank You DI for firing me . That would be what I would think if I were he. Go over and enjoy the DI it is a nice place a good spot to get away and kick back. This is the thoughts and opinion of an old man. Happy Memorial Day weekend to all. Uncle H.

Well said. I love Boyd and will support HLH more because of him. That said, DI will at some point have to have paid it's due.

Pacifica, I'm with you,,,, I'm with Byod. I spend my money where I thinking I'm treated right. There are many places to send your money, but I want to know I am wanted back, HLH wants me back, Dunn Inn does not know me and does not even care who I am.at I will spend my money somewhere else.

:? I took the advise of the disgruntled and booked (thru Boyd) the Clarion, well, that didn't pan out very well. So, I made new reservations for the Dunn Inn and was pleasantly surprised to see almost all the 'old' staff still there. I am not privy to the situation but it would be my guess that Boyd had to deal directly with the new owners and well. and again I am just guessing here. but I bet he just quit. I do not feel that it is necessary to take my hostility out on the staff. If and when they start to disappear it will be quite another matter. The casino thing is a disaster as far as I can see and that business I will take elsewhere gladly. I have not seen where Boyd has directed any attack at his former employers on this site and I am aware that he does contribute to it.. I welcome any correction to this view. mes :!: :!: :!: :| :?

boyd is well thought of by many. dunn inn has not slandered him nor he them. looks like no harm no foul. things work out the way they do. i agree with those that will take business elsewhere but have a hard time thinking a fellow monger is outside the lines because he chooses to stay at dunn inn, let alone treat him with disdain. its a nice affordable alternative.

Sorry I don't argue much but this is simply not true, If Boyd was still there you would have seen a steady trickle of us heading back and forth from the Done inn to the SL and it would have been sweet one big party and they would have made a killing.

I will walk in to see it not spend a nickle and walk out back to SL and maybe go say hi to Boyd who I only met for a brief howdy once so you can't say I am biased I simply saw a crooked company treat their main resource badly and it will hopefully ruin them. I hate crooks and liers and that from what has been presented to the board as the truth they have not been able to counter this! maybe because there is no way to twist the truth to their favor.

I still don't get it-- arrogant, ignorant as to hotel/casino management, or whatever, crooked is maybe a little strong and quite a different matter. Again, I have not seen anything on this site that has suggested crooked and again, I do not mind being educated/corrected. What I have seen tends to point to the former charges not the latter. Also, I have stayed at a lot of the other hotels and have no problemwith them but I do not feel the need to be stroked by the management. :? :roll: Ido appreciate a pleasant staff and the staff that still remains at the Dunn Inn fills that bill (as do most of the others that are monger friendly) So what's really up???????

I used the word crooked because I choose to believe Boyds story and not theirs, IMHO it all comes down to opinions and facts, Done inn said very little and several points were brought up that made sense and they never countered them, Silence speaks volumes to me. As we all have our choice of where to spend our money I choose to not spend a nickle there. I am sorry if the staff, minus management suffers they are the real losers but I will not use them alone as a reason to stay there when I can stay with Bill where I happen to like the staff and the owners. CR is not short on hotel rooms with great staff and management.

If however someone could provide some proof that the ridiculous accusations against Boyd are true I would apologize and possible change my mind, They and their supporters have had months and months and so far haven't backed up anything so why would I choose them over places like SL which I simply Love staying at? The HLH which I visit but have yet to stay at may be next on my list of places I stay at when the SL if full or to just see what all the fuss is about. I used to love ZB then it IMHO went to pot and appears to now be a pretty decent and fun place!

Until then I think I am done even talking about the done inn.

The facts about Dunn Inn (for me) I would have never stayed at the Dunn Inn if not for BK, I stayed twice and Bk was running things .....ate in the restaurant many times while Bk was running things .....since BK has left (3trips back to san jose ) and the only reason I have even seen the place is ...I went to vips 1 a few times ..... I am just 1 of 100's of members who use this site to plan trips.....
