Vista mar is the best, IMO, but it depends on how much you are willing to spend... |

Anybody that won't bargain with you these days you can tell them to bugger off.. It is really slow here right now, although there are quite a few chicas around. If reservations don't pick up, there will always be vacancies this summer. So, work em hard when making reservations. |

I was there last week, and Jaco is a ghost town of it's former self. All kinds of shops and restaurants closed or for lease. All those beautiful (yea right)high rises sitting vacant or unfinished. And did I mention how high the prices seemed for EVERYTHING. $22 for 60 sun lotion!! My favorita and I had an aguardiente drinking festival, and she passed out, so I took that as a sign from mi dios to head over and see the BB, etc-yikes, have the new owners ruined that place--reminds me of some cheesy Detroit strip bar--all the ambiance that used to be the BB is gone. Altho, it was a Sunday, the talent seemed to be exceptionally lame. There is also a $10 dollar entrance fee for guys, and they just started charging the chicas a cover charge too. I wouldn't predict a long future for this establishment at this rate. Bohio, Claritas, Copacabana, Monkey, Evolution, Le Loft--all dead quiet Stayed at the Tangeri(no chicas, unless you check in with them), nice and peaceful Back to the Dominican Republic for this gringo |

Le loft has been crakin' and Hotel Posideon has great food, bar, and chica friendly. Bar Isaga for locals, semis.,and civilians, Backyard Bar Wednesdays and Saturdays for a bit of both. ![]() |

I always stay at Hotel 9 at the south end of the beach. Quite, super clean, right on the beach, no guest fee. You'll have to take a taxi into town (just a bit far to walk it). But it is the nicest area of Jaco. BB is touch and go, it can be empty at 9pm and packed at 9:45. But it used to be better and when it gets busy, it does not last for long. Cover charge has got to go. I don't expect it to last long the way it's going. Wish there was something nicer (like a cross of SL and HLH) to go to. More like a lounge where you want to hang out and stay a while. BB is only good to go in, get and get out. By the way, Monkey bar is a toilet bowl. Every time I've been there, I fear I might get stabbed. The crowd always looks low rent and it is too loud to try to get to know a chic. |

Can't argue with Hotel 9. I hang out on that end of the beach for sunset with rum most days. Just me but I'm not into the Clarita's end of the beach. And yes, Le Loft is packed every night that it is open. |

Yep I hear you on the Claritas, I have gone in cold sober, lightly buzzed, business meetings and just grabbing a bit to eat. Never feel the love even though I have somewhat passable tico spanish. Either they are all bitter billies and wilmas or perhaps my charm just doesn't sound as good as I think it does in spanish. ![]() |

Bump for any hotel recommendations in Jaco. Claritas was on my list but the vibe isn't looking good on this thread. Thanks. |

Try all four or use them to beat each other down in price, Posideon, Claritas, Hotel 9 (use to have great food) and Morgan's cove, if nothing else you will meet different chicas and bartenders and cater your trip to your tastes and comfort level. Trip Advisor also is a good source |
