I'm looking for the best place to stay that's friendly to outside guest. Is there anything along the lines of a Marriott or Hilton. Some of the places I've seen isn't cutting it for me. |

I once heard one of the Boca Ratton silver spoon boys complaining that there weren't any decent hotels in CR, "third rate country with third rate hotels". If you want white linen service and a concierge I recommend you stay in the USA. However, if a very nice large clean room will do it for you, I recommend the Mansion Wing at Sportsman's Lodge. Very nice amenities and close to ground zero. If that doesn't do it for you, I suggest that money isn't a factor and you can get P4p in the good ol' USA. It will just cost as much per day as a week in CR but everyone speaks English and the linen is white. |

Sportsmans Lodge, Hotel Amistad, Dunn Inn, Hotel Little Havana, El Presidente (not chica friendly), but might be up your alley. HDR if if you are first timer. If you can't enjoy any of those places, there is no pleasing you, and you best stay home in bum phuck. |

I think those are the places that he says "isn't cutting it for me". ![]() nwa747, if you want a chica-friendly place in San Jose, you're juist gonna have to downgrade your hotel expectations. |

I forgot about Hotel M, it could be a place to your liking. Also I think they are having special rates right now, and it is chica friendly. |

Jawanker wrote: I forgot about Hotel M, it could be a place to your liking. Also I think they are having special rates right now, and it is chica friendly. I have stayed there frequently. While the rooms are very nice, the service lately has not been up to its usual standards. Having said that... JC has recently returned as the Hotel M manager. In the past whenever he was in charge the place hummed like a well tuned engine. JC used to be an assistant manager at the Four Seasons Resort in Costa Rica, so the guy knows what he's doing. mh P.S. Another option for the OP - check out Hotel Beacon in Escazu. Very nice boutique hotel, catering to businesspeople. Not a monger's hotel, but not chica-unfriendly either. Just be discreet. I haven't stayed at the Hotel Barcelo San Jose Palacios but I hear this might be another option. Note neither hotel is close to the Gulch. |

It seems they cater to a more Continental thus cosmopolitan demographic. Lovely cafe and live Latin music. Chica-friendliness not known but doubtful. For that rent a daily or weekly "FuckCrib"--long history of that here: http://www.barcelo.com/BarceloHotels/en ... erests.htm on the Hotel Beacon, here's more: http://www.mybeaconescazu.com/ |

Dont hate on the man , he only asked for advise. Everyone has different taste & budgets. You dont have to be a " silver spoon boy " to spend 100 bucks for a nice room. Conversely you are not necessarily a cheapskate If you prefer a 50.00 shithole. That is my opinion . ( You know what they say about opinions.) ![]() |

In other words, they have no problems with "visitors" as long as you don't flaunt them and they don't look like obvious working chicas. There's even the occasional working girl working the hotel bar. Normal "guest" fee is $30 - I have a contact there who works at the casino who can get that waived if you're interested. mh |

Here's another hotel listed as a VIP Sponsor that's rarely mentioned: https://costaricaticas.com/news.php?id=273 about the Hotel Inca Real. Here's more: http://www.hotelincareal.com/eng/index.html and a TripAdvisor listing: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review ... _Jose.html |

I am a Hilton or JW Marriott kinda guy also. I will say the Mansion at SL or maybe the penthouse at HLH are very nice places. And at $130 per night, are the more expensive in the gulch. We do not go to CR for the VIP lounge. Most Chica are impressed by a shower with hot water. So a suite on the 20th floor is way over kill. So if your new take some advice from others and go with the flow. Next trip you can make your own path.... |
