Looking for a current report on Hemingways. The $35-$45 special scares me. Staying 15 days mid May. My penthouse rental is only 10 days (Do the math). My regulars-Sportsmans, Amistad, etc. are not available at the end of May. Also looking at Little Havana. Yes I've read about the changes there, but I can't get Bill at Sportsman to let me stay at his condo.

I have not stayed at Hemmingway's but it is next door to Hotel Castillo. The rooms at Castillo in 50 dollar range . Negotiate for upgraded room. I do not know if Hemmingway's enforces their Chica fee. Castillo no fee, plus light breakfast included. HLH nice rooms with a lot of Chica advantages if rooms available.

I've seen one room at Hemingway's, nice, guy rented for a month @$600 last year in the off season. But another friend left after being harassed at the desk for the chica fee, being required to pay it upfront before she could go up to the room.

My last trip I was looking for a room and went in saw chica fee sign . I figured it might be enforced so I chose not to stay .
