San Jose to Jaco....................................... Jaco to San Jose
Departs Coca Cola Bus Station San Jose.................. Departs Pizza Hut in Jaco
6:00am........................................................................ 5:00am
7:00am........................................................................ 7:00am
9:00am .........................................................................9:00am
11:00am....................................................................... 11:00am

3:00pm............................................................................ 3:00pm
5:00pm............................................................................ 5:00pm
7:00pm........................................................................... xxxxxxxx
*Bus leaves exactly as scheduled do not be late
*Approx travel time each way is 2 hour 45 mins (old route)
*Express buses usually leave directly from the station in Jaco and DO NOT travel through town for pickups
*Do not depend on bus if your flight leaves within 3 hours of schedule bus arrival – traffic varies greatly
Telephone SJO: 2-223-1109 Jaco: 2-643-3135
Purchase tickets:
In SJO: At Coca Cola Bus Station ask “dónde está la taquilla Jaco” it is located in the same area where the buses wait
In Jaco: Behind Pizza Hut you can buy tickets. If you are leaving early in the morning buy your tickets the day before or if you depart on a Sunday or a holiday buy them a few days ahead of time, they sell out quickly.

Should be $30 each way and you can book here ahead of time: http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/

They will pick you up right at SL, and drop you off at your hotel of choice in Jaco, pick you back up in Jaco and drop you back off at your SJ hotel or the airport as well. It ends up being Interbus by the way. I liked this site better as you can pay via Paypal as well.

Obviously, there was a misunderstanding somewhere. I'm guessing the person who answered your email speaks poor English and didn't understand what you were asking. Unless they changed their whole business model, that's what they do. They pick you up at your hotel and take your ass to your destination.

You don't need to ask questions. Just book it: http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/website/sho ... /index.php

Select origin (click the little plus next to San Jose), then select destination Jaco. On the right choose the 8:15am or 2:30pm bus and click Book a Ticket. On the next page, plug in the date and click See Available Tickets. Check ADULT and select pick up place (SPORTSMEN, LODGE) and your drop-off hotel in Jaco. It will tell you the time they will pick you up next to your selected pick-up hotel. that's it.

Check with Puravidatransport, a CRT member and sponsor. He's a great guy and speaks pretty decent Spanish. His English sucks unless you speak Texican...

Fascinating Website. As a sidebar, there was an ad for an AMCosta Rica service called Costa Rica Report wherein they read the Spanish language press in English. Has anybody tapped into this? Is it a good overview of the local press? Somebody moving to CR but having limited skills would find it useful--or shouldn't that type be encouraged to stay limited?

For some reason the link here isn't usable. Go back to the original post please.
