I used Travisa in L.A. to do the extra pages....was returned in 3 days with Argentina visa still attached to back page. Sounds like you got hosed out of the Brasil visa. CH |

Travisa usually does a good job and handling visas. I used them for years and years back when I ran a travel agency and rarely had any problems. |

I'll concur that your renewed passport will only have blank pages, and I'll add that your note requesting extra pages is not enough unless you signed it. From the State Department: Quote: You travel extensively and are applying for a new passport book
You must submit: Applicable fees and A signed, written request for additional visa pages and If eligible, mail Form DS-82 to the address listed on the form (if not eligible, follow instructions for submitting Form DS-11 in person). |

Well here is the update... A: I indeed checked on the Renewal Application for extra pages which was an option during the process. I Spoke to the Toll Free # after waiting on never ending hold and they simply missed it within the application. Not a big deal I can always get extra pages later. B: They sent me back my original passport days later in separate packaging with the Hole stamp through everything but my Brazil Visa. C: Brazilian consulate stated I can travel with both old and new passports the old containing the Visa .... Not an issue or I can pay $38.00 to have the Visa Transferred to the new passport leaving it down there at the Miami consulate and picking it up in a few days. So there we have it... Thanks for all the replies. |

I have a permanent visa for Brasil and when I renewed my US passport they put in the extra pages but I forgot to ask them to transfer the visa, when I emailed the Brasilian consulate about the proper procedure about getting the visa transferred to my new passport, they replied I was to carry both passports, they didn't even mention the $38 option. I may have this done since the new passport doesn't expire till 2020. Also when I renewed less then a year ago, a separate form requesting extra pages was required, they may have changed it to box you check, and there was also some information that a fee of $80 for extra pages was going to be implemented in the near future as opposed to getting them at no additional charge as is/was the current policy. |

Well the tail doesn't wag the dog... UGH... Finally received an EMAIL response from the consulate and their advice is not the same as the phone person I spoke to... and I quote "It is not possible to transfer the VIsa to the new passport, in order to have that completed you must apply for a new Visa as if your passport was lost or stolen" WTF... Not a big deal to carry both, but Jeez get your acts together. SinCity considering the November / Pre-Tgiving Rio Run if the dollar can rebound a bit against the Real and airfares come off the rediculous number they are at... One never knows I might be vacationing i Centaurus ![]() |

Damn, doesn't the Brazilian visa cost like $100 or more? They're kinda pissed at the USA ever since we started making it more difficult for Brazilians to enter the US, so they kind of started a tit for tat thing and added a little extra to show how mad they were. |

the $100.00 isn't that big a deal if you get the 5 year visa and make a few trips hell at $26.00 Departure tax from CR.. it far exceedes the Visa very quickly. |

Brasil was always about reciprocity with the US,they didn't even charge anybody else but they always charged Americans. I glad I paid my dues pre 9/11 |

Quote: Damn, doesn't the Brazilian visa cost like $100 or more? I think it's $140 now + you can't do it by mail anymore. Either in person, or have a visa expediting service take care of it for ya. So prob about $200 total. My last 5-yr expired so that's another cost for a future trip to Rio. |
