Have flown TACA many times to various destinations including Miami. Have never had a bad experience. Generous baggage allowance, free in-flight food, free booze and some attractive Latina F/A's. What else could you ask for? |

Donnied wrote: has anybody taken taca from miami to sjo 8:30am flight, and how was it thanks Yes - many times, over many years Excellent experiences; comfortable seats; better leg room vs American or Spirit (puhleeze ![]() ![]() I don't recall a single instance flying them when the flight was delayed leaving (always better to be on the first flights out, especially in airports like MIA or FLL), or late arriving - in fact, it was there mostly before the scheduled time. (VS one time American at - 4AM - called canceling me out for the day; had to leave the next - on a 5 day trip - for whatever nonsense). I have not flown TACA the last few trips because: They were MUCH more expensive than Spirit, even w/ all the Spirit upcharges & BS (for what should be basic services - but thats a whole thread - which I think is active currently - in itself) Spirit got me in at 12:30, which was fine - I did not have to get up at 5AM (sometimes the flight leaves at 7:30AM vs 8:30AM) The return flight leaves SJO at 6:30 - with the time changes during daylight savings time, you arrive in Miami late - like after 11PM; when I'm in no mood to wait on Customs and/or Immigration, or wait for checked luggage - I seldom check, but have on ocasion - plus you have to check out (or pay another night) of your hotel +/- noon, and store your baggage - always found it a wasted day - I prefer leaving at say 1PM and being back in S FL before 6PM. Hey, just my dos colonies; as always YMMV ![]() |

taca buying a ticket is sometimes a pain in the ass but once you get to the airport it improves. i have flown them 12 or so times and always arrived on time or early. they do not charge for luggage yet. they feed you a little meal in flight, at least from LA. they will serve you some nice stiff drinks. and the people are actually friendly. combine that with planes that are relatively new by AA or united standards and my choice is always taca. |

I'd fly Taca every single time (I have until recently), but they have raised their fares out of JFK to $500. Meal service: http://www.taca.com/eng/syi/ifs/ifsecocla.asp?id=25 (I think Taca has taken the HDR puta approach to business. If you have less customers, you gotta charge each one more to make the same amount of money.) |

If you live near a TACA ticket office it might be worthwhile to pay them a visit. My amigo in Miami could not find a fare cheaper then $385.00 on TACA in May. He went to their ticket office and got a r/t all in for $278.00. Might have helped that he has used TACA MIA/SJO exclusively for many years and is know to the TACA personnel at the ticket office. Anyway can't hurt to try. |

Taca will give you a hot sandwich even on the 40 minute flight to PTY. I love the younger airline companies, they can still provide good customer service because they don't have 30,000 pensions to pay for. |
