Interesting article on the call for all airlines to allow 1 free checked bag.

Summary: since most travelers are carrying more in carryons, it is estimated that TSA spends 260 million more in screening. Ergo, a higher passenger facility charge. So there is a call for all airlines to allow 1 checked bag, domestic or international.

BTW...shouldn't the airlines be held to a higher standard for a fee? A higher reimbursement for lost luggage, reimbursement for late luggage, etc?
