I always have good luck with the Interbus sirport shuttle.
Now, it's $12 one way... that's the same amount I paid for a taxi when I first started coming to CR.

Used Interbus again, this time both ways, to and from airport, u have to book 3 days in advance much cheaper then a taxi... great service if u goin solo... |

I think we stopped at 4 different hotels between the airport and the Dunn Inn. There was a bit of a mixup and I ended up being the only one on the shuttle back to the airport, but it wasn't worth the extra 45 minutes or so to save a few bucks to me. I did very much appreciate them as a shuttle between Jaco and San Jose and back for less than $30 each way. |

I've used Interbus a dozen times and only twice was there one other person, the other ten times just me so guess I've been lucky too. |

If I go during the day I use the regular bus in front of the airport for less than $ 1.00 . Take it to the end of the line and another dollar to the Morazan. You need colones to ride the bus so just go upstairs after you get off the plane and pay your exit tax and ask for your change in colones. When you get to the bus stop ask the driver San Jose if he says si hop aboard if he says no wait for the next bus. If you have a large suitcase well maybe this is not your best option. If you go at night walk out to the street and catch a regular marked red cab and tell him $ 20.00 most still go for this amount. These may not be the best for you but work for me. |

http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/ remains the best way to book InterBus, even when in CR. One pays via PayPal; has a cogent course of redress JUST in case there is a problem; and you're working with a USA based company. The company's owner was the CFO for InterBus in CR, maintains very positive relations with InterBus and his brother continues to drive for InterBus, among other "hats" said brother wears for InterBus. I've used that web site over 37 times and have not been let down once. Too, I am always leaving San Jose around 4am....they're always there and on time. Good opeation. Screw the taxi. |

And when there's a problem, they help make things right (Shuttlebus that is). Last summer, I arrived at 8pm and neither my van nor the IB rep was there. After waiting 5 minutes, I took a taxi ($25) to my hotel. Contacted Shuttlebus the next day and turns out that the van was stuck in heavy traffic coming in to get me. They refunded me the $10 fee and another $25 they got from IB to cover the taxi fare that I paid. I had a paypal payment for $35 in a couple of hours. |

When I got ready to leave last trip I took taxi to Bus station and then to airport for a total of about $ 4.00. No trouble whatsoever. Did not take long to get there. |

Bus to Airport cost me 400 Colones or 80 cents. Tuaca bus station. I hope I am spelling it right. It is not very far from cola cola bus station just a few blocks. |

TUASA bus terminal is on avenida 2 calle 12/14across the street from Merced cathedral. Make sure you ask "aeropuerto?" as not all buses go through the airport on there way to Alajuela. |

400 colones?....ruinous!....... I know of one member from the Pits of Jax that used to walk/hitchhike his way into town and collect all the empty beer cans thrown at him from passing cars for scrap......told me he made $14.75 one trip....good enough for a 4x4x4 Little Darling. |
