Back from five nights at the HLH. Stayed in room 225 (upstairs queen). With my CRT discount for paying cash, it was $70 per night. The room was nice - WiFi, TV, huge mirror hanging on the wall to the right side of the bed, comfortable bed, safe, and, best of all, a window between the shower and the room (for your viewing pleasure). Surprisingly (to me), the upstairs area was very quiet. You could not hear anything from the bar or the other rooms. Met the owner and he helped me out with a breakfast recommendation.

I found the staff to be very nice - front desk, bar. Boyd was there every day (which was the reason I decided to try the HLH). Really nice guy. The bar was open around 11 a.m. and stayed open until about 9 p.m. or so. Solid selection of ladies. CRT price for a guy who was staying there was $35 - quite a bargain for SJO. The bar was busy during happy hour, quieter at other times.

I've stayed at the SL and Hotel La Amistad and thought both were more than fine. But I think I'll stay at HLH again next time. I just liked it and having Boyd there is a big plus. The only negative right now is that they don't serve food....although the bartender is happy to order for you. This might not be a big problem, though, as Rick's (part of Dunn Inn) is just around the corner and Soda Peru is just up the street (although it was closed while I was there). Also a Colombian place and Bar Paos around the corner.

Thanks to Boyd for his hospitality and thanks to the ladies who gave me a good time, especially the new girl who had just come over from Idem.

My guess is that if you have a room there, your extra $35 activities take place in your room as opposed to one of the smaller rooms on the ground floor. Is that true?

Yep.

Quick newbie-esque questions: is HLH in the same general area as SL & Blue Marlin and the rest (like walking distance - daytime of course) or are they more like taxi distance? I'm thinking about staying there, but would like to check out the others while I'm in San Jose.

Also, if a chica-friendly hotel has their own club and girls, are they usually friendly to outside chicas (from other clubs or non-pros)?

Thanks

We are four blocks from Sl and DR, basically a triangle with the Holiday Inn in the middle. You are welcome to bring outside girls to the bar or your room (no guest fees for CRT VIP members). Outside girls are not allowed to independently work the bar.

Thanks Boyd. From all I read you are just the man to help a gulch newbie get acclimated. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Last question for now, I promise: is HLH now a pick up location for CRT VIP cards as Dunn Inn was? (not sure if it moved with the mgt) :)

I don't know if I was ripped off someone help... I was in HLV paid $40 for half hour and gave money to bartender. After amazing session with chica she said I owed her an additional $20 does that sound right? I thought it was only one price.

Doesn't sound right. If you are at an MP the price is set; if she asks for more my experience is that the management doesn't know she is asking for more.

Negative ghost rider! $55 is the one hour NON CRT price. I believe $49 is the new CRT hour price.
