Just booked another trip and am staying at the Sportsmen's Lodge March 9th though the 14th. When I got my confirmation it stated the Lodge has secure parking. Does anyone know if that is accurate? I was there in November and don't recall any secure parking. Would any of you give your opinions on renting a car for a day or two to roam the countryside? Thanks.

The guys at the hotel are pretty good at keeping an eye on it. Or it could just be because mine is a beater and no one would tend to break in. Have gotten hammered back in the day and left my car out front over night.

SL has covered parking at night for 2 cars. Need to secure this in advance through Manfred at the front desk 011-506-2221-0218 or 1-800-291-2798. Otherwise SL has 3 outdoor security officers at night to watch the car if it is parked directly infront of the front gate which can easily be arranged. Simple deal.

Thanks for the information. This trip I just might rent a car for a day or two to have the freedom to see the country at my own leisure with a chica or two in tow.

Also, there is a parking lot around the corner and half-way up the block (walking up towards the hospital). Don't know the rates or if it's open 24 hrs.

When I've rented a car I've parked it in front w/o incident. Security watches it carefully.
