Looking for a little experienced advice on the Amistad penthouse rooms. Are there particular rooms that are better than others? (I think there are 6 total). I am already booked and am looking forward to the 'penthouse' Amistad experience as previous visits in other rooms have always been perfect!

Thanks for your help!

I stayed in room 202. It's multi-level with a large jacuzzi, large shower, king size bed with 46" TV. Also plenty of windows facing the front of the hotel.

202 - best layout IMO
201 - faces train side
203 - small, dark, A/C used to rattle
307(?) - upstairs apartment, used to be owner's suite, have kitchen and a bathroom with urinal
There's a couple of other good ones - search for "Amistad Penthouse" for more info.

307 (?above) is actually 311
312 is 1 level up from 311, with large balcony
310 is the 2 level penthouse with the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs (least favorite)

The 200-series "penthouses" are really just suites or nice large rooms (though 203 is the smallest of the three).

310 and 312 are the true penthouse suites. 312 is up a tight spiral staircase from the 3rd floor, be careful if you're flat-out drunk. 310 has a loft-style bedroom, also up a spiral staircase, though the only bathroom is on the lower floor; also has a massive wall-length floor-to-ceiling window--it doesn't get really dark in that room even with the curtains closed (the outside green lights shine through the edges, bathes the room in a green glow). 311 used to be the former owner's apartment, great if like a full kitchen.

312 is a party room. Plenty of open space to have some amigos y amigas over for a very nice party. The balcony is great for "outdoor activities" 8) . It has a dry sauna and jacuzzi. Has a couch and a loveseat and a bar. It doesnt get too dark in this room either. The only real drawback for me was the bed tucked around the corner with no view of the TV!

The chicas love the room though, except the walk up all the stairs.

Thanks for all of the great feedback!!!

This will be trip 16 in the last 15 years and I thought it was time for some 'deluxe' accommodations. (plus as noted, I figured the chicas would like it too!!!)

Looking forward to February.

I had a great couple of nights in 312. Besides all the things you mentioned I loved the giant wood dining room table. I did some serious dining at that table; dining at the Y that is! Lay your chica spread eagle on the table & pull up a chair! Mighty tasty.

The only complaint I had about the Amistad was that the jacuzzi took forever to fill up and by the time it did, the water wasn't very warm. Piss poor water pressure the week I was there last.
