Hey brothers the info on the hotel Prez needs some update. I gather something happened and something changed and yes there is tica fee and no but there is a dress code and they have a great breakfast but no second girl. Im pouring over posts and trying to get the latest and could really use some "hand on" intel. I wanted to stay at Prez but what do you think?

1. Is there a tica fee or a no second tica policy? and why cant i just get a buddy to drink a beer i buy him while i take an extra up for a party?
2. dress code? i aint buying a gal a pair of jeans to get her to my room.
3. If they are not that co-operative with our hobby I wanna switch my stay.
4. Everything else looks good, rooms, bar, breakfast, sundeck ..... why is this such a secret? they have a free sundeck, jacuzzi, and sauna? Sounds like a party waiting to happen?

So when did things change and is it all that bad? Thanks brothers for the update!!!

They used to be CRT sponsor several years ago with a great VIP room discount, and was very popular with CRT mongers. Not anymore. No more discount (the rooms are pretty costly now), only one chica at a time, a strict chica dress code which is dependent on the whims of whoever is at the desk at the time, and a chica blacklist that bans chicas for pretty much whatever reason they want, be it major or minor (like violating the dress code one time for something like a skirt being one inch too short). Still no chica fee though. Some guys still stay there, and if you play by the rules (like buying jeans for a chica) the Prez can be a mongering place. That's why it isn't talked about much here, the SL, new La Amistad and new Dunn Inn have taken the Prez's place and surpassed it. Leave the Prez to the eco-tourists.

Wingman stayed over Halloween so I can post a 3rd party update. Rooms are very nice and clean, convenient location, friendly staff and the breakfast is good. There's no guest fee but there is a dress code and you can only bring in 1 guest at a time. As a long-time patron that had some of the best nights of my life there it saddens me to say I'll probably not book again after his report of increased hassles over the dress code policy. The guard made his date turn her sweater around at 2 AM to hide her cleavage and other guest's dates were being denied entry completely, and that with the hotel mostly empty. For $100 plus/room it sounds like the hassles have finally outweighed the positives of staying there...for me anyway. :(

Wow, how the times have changed! I remember a time when any negativity towards the Prez was considered blasphemous on CRT! So go all the icons eventually...

Yeah it's a shame, what a great hotel. Know that most guys gave up on the place years ago but there's still a few hold-outs, mostly guys with a "novia" or a few favoritas so they have no trouble with the policy but if you want to play the field and get a little crazy it's best to stay elsewhere.
My first stay there -a standard was only 46.00/night. :)

The Prez doesn't want your money. They are more interesred in tree hugger money. There are a number of other hotels that will gladly take your business.

Btw-you are not having any "party" in any public area of the Prez. The moment an overweight gringa sees a half-naked latina out there and runs to tell management, the party's over and you are probably outta there.

I first heard about CR from a guy's report on another board, it was a small anti-Nevada forum. He stayed at the Prez and it was the $46 rate I believe. When I made my first CR trip I foolishly stayed at the HDR instead (that place calls to you like a siren).  I eventually wised-up an switched to the Prez, my best time there was in the Grand Spa Suite #801 (the one with the jacuzzi on the balcony), only was $95 a night back then with the CRT discount.

Years ago the Prez was THE major alternative to the HDR, the SL either didn't exist yet or was just a start-up pivate club-like place for the smart types. Times have sure changed.

I stayed there almost 6 years ago and really enjoyed it. I split up the second half of my trip between Puerto Viejo and Sportsmens Lodge. I never made it back to the Presidente or the other gulch hotels.

I just stayed at the Prez from 11/11-11/14. There was no chica fee. There is still a dress code. Breakfast is still free. They did eliminate the CRT discount a couple of years ago. However, they initiated a VIP program for those who stayed there 12 nights or more per year. Basically get a $30-$40 discount per night depending of the type of room selected. I take a Spa room with a jaccuzzi and get it for $99 per night plus tax.

The service is still excellent and the rooms are real nice. The Prez is not for everyone particularly based on the dress code, for others the cost may be a factor.

I appreciate all the input! Wow I must say the help is causing me to consider switching to Amistad or Dunn Inn. Now I have to start my research over. The beds at Pres looked comfy and clean with fluffy pillows and a great breakfast but i must say I don't like the idea of being turned away at the door of my already overpriced hotel. So as we raise our glass together as brothers I'd just like to say "Phuk them!" Dunn Inn seems CRT member friendly but .... I'm not a member yet. Can I buy a card from boyd at dunn and use it to check in that day (nov 28/29ish)? I am impressed with the way you guys 'pull together' here (no pun intended) ... I'm so looking forward to the r&r& rub and tug too. cheers!

I always go to the Prez and enjoy everything about it. Most chicas either have a sweater or something, or can borrow what they need. There are just too many positives about it and I don't want to be at an exclusively monger venue. Location, location, location.

Ok Ive called around alot and bugged several places with details that they are probably asked all the time. I cancelled my reservations at the Prez and rebooked with Dunn Inn. They have been outstanding in response and if thats the way they run a hotel I am sending them my business. I hear they have remodeled the rooms and beds are great, soon they will have a sports lounge and casino open. Also it's no secret that Dunn Inn is a great CRT choice although other hotels offer wonderful CRT discounts too. You can pick up your freaking card from Dunn Inn. So to Boyd and the new guy G.G. ... here I come! Thanks everyone for your help.

Yes, you will like it there. Especially if the casino is open. The walls are a little thin in some of the rooms.

As I understand it, you can get the 1-year CRT VIP card (NOT the Lifetime) from Brother BKTuna (Boyd) as a cash sale only, but then immediately apply it to your hotel bill (room and food). You can also pay your departure tax there too with a service charge tacked on. And BTW the owners aren't nearly done yet--some things cookin' that will extend luxe opportunities at fruition.
Absent from the hotel venues above is the funky charm of the Castillo--Darren there continues to impress, with the added bonus of a house cat. Now we need the other hotel venue Sponsors to step up with a bit of remodeling and whatnot (Hemingway, Vesuvio). On the Prez--They may make it obvious they view our business dimly but they will never get over their rep as a monger hotel with SJO's populace--good luck getting a "nice" Latina to go into the place.
