I got a Frontier flight from Sam Fran to SJO through Denver from Feb 8 to 16 three weeks ago for $545. I just got an alert today for the same timeframe for $455. Of course, my change fee is $100 so it will do me no good , but maybe help someone else! Hard to tell when is the time to pull the trigger on these. I had a hunch I was a little early booking a while back.

I've noticed that fare prices after the first of the year are dropping. I found the lowest fares starting around the third week in January, now they've moved to the first week.

Frontier (and I assume most airlines, won't give up the difference in airfare for changes.

Yes, my ticket is non-refundable but can be changed (as long as I fly within a year, I think it is). However, the "change fee" is $100 and that is exactly how much the fare has come down. They probably even factor that in when they reduce fares knowing if it's only reduced $100 folks like me can't re-book. I guess I should call and make sure, but I'm assuming a "change" also includes just re-booking at the lower fare.

Does anyone know for sure?
