Found this article on www.smartertravel.com about the scanner in particular and the problem with TSA in general. Or in other words, law enforcement is mostly reactionary after the fact.

Enjoy. Despite the risk, even if terrorists downed 1 plane per week, it still would be safer than driving.

I went through security at IAH on Monday, Nov 22nd on the way to SJO... They had turned off the body scanners and were only using the metal detectors... Minimal pat-downs from what I could see... I was entering the international terminal exiting the country, so this may have had a bearing on this decision if the DHS is more concerned about flights in the US...

It's all a feel good bunch of BS that is supposed to make everyone feel safe after 9/11 . Here is a clip from an article that says it all:
"If Americans were more thoughtful and less gullible, they might wonder why all the emphasis on transportation when there are so many soft
targets. Shopping centers, for example. If there were enough terrorists in America to justify the existence of Homeland Security, bombs would be going off round the clock in shopping malls in every state. The effect would be far more terrifying than blowing up an airliner."

Does BS stand for Ball Sack? :D

I'd skip the scanner if a hot chica was checking the package!!!! Wonder if gay guys are loving the pat-downs?

Simpler, they may just want men to think they are as perfect as they want to appear to them, trying to hide what they consider to be the ugly truth about themselves. And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."

Yep, just another ploy to justify the suspension of the Bill of Rights through the enactment of the Homeland Security Act...
