" The Federal Aviation Administration does not actually require passengers to be seated during flight, just that they each occupy a "berth" with safety belts.

As long as the SkyRider meets all applicable regulations, possibly with some additional reinforcements, it could be used by U.S. airlines, according to FAA spokesman Les Dorr. "

We joked about it before, but it sounds like some else was not joking..

Wow - travel is only going to get uglier and uglier.

Why stop at saddles/stools? Why not find a way to keep everybody standing yet shackled to posts?

If the airlines can cram in more & more people like this, charge $100/piece or more for carry-on or checked luggage, just think how profitable they'll be. The head of Ryan Air has already been quoted saying that passengers should just buy clothes at their destination. Of course they couldn't take said clothes home with them.
