I stayed at the sportsman last time I was in SJ and was planning on staying there again but they are all booked up during my visit. What is the next best option. I was thinking Amistad or Dunn Inn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If SL is booked I would suggest the Dunn Inn for sure. You can always get on SL's waiting list to see if things change..

You picked the two best options. However, I still think if you have not been there before and if you trip is for no more than 3 or 4 days the HDR is still a good option. The rooms are not great but the experience is.

Staying at the Amistad... I noticed in the advertisement that there was not guest fee but only one guest at a time. I was planning on doubling up on a couple of chicas. Is the Amistad pretty rigid about one guest at a time?
