Pls provide any info on this motel. How far from the SL and is it Tica friendly. Looks great on the website but looks can be deceiving. Planning to return in December and want to try a different place. Thanks for any input.

Plenty of information here for HOTEL La Amistad, it's a CRT sponsor. Do a search or scan through the last 25 pages of this forum.

This isn't the newbie forum, I don't have to be nice.

yes it's chica friendly, & it's a 3 minute walk from the SL. Most board members love the place, just close eough to the action without being in the middle of it

What Brother HikerTom was getting at was Motels in CR are short-term (12 hour) hot-sheet places--some very nice. What are you used to? Nuevo Johnsom? Hotel M? What? Give us something more to go on please. No. no Chica fees at any straight-up CRT sponsor--be sure to show your CRT card on entrance to get any discounts. A PM to Brother Mkink might be wise too

The biggest negative with the Amistad is the Phucking Train.

The Amistad is next to the train tracks. If you sleep late and are a light sleeper wear ear plugs!!!

The train conductors blow their horns as they approach the intersection next to the Amistad.

Yes Matt has got them to cut back dramatically on the amount of Horn Blasts. But they still blow the horn.

Saturday and Sundays are great. But Monday thru Friday mornings the train is relentless.

If your an early riser then it's like a wake up call.

A lot of folks overlook the train noise because of the great service, nice rooms, great beds, decent breakfast, long distance included, excellent internet access etc. They treat CRT folks very well.

I would recommend the Amistad just bring your ear plugs!
