I like the Marriott. They have never hassled me about chicas. It is walking distance to the Multiplaza Mall, The Jazz Cafe and the plaza close has decent nightlife and restaurants (there is a little bistro with the best coffee and pancakes in San Jose).

Gordob123--You say you're attending a Spanish language school, which implies an extended stay. May I ask what monthly rates you were quoted at those 2 venues? And what school and how you came to choose it? I am most def' not questioning your choices or recommending alternates, though others might.

these two hotels are a good way from the school...esp during rush hours...though the school is well thought of ...and some buds have talked to the ladies that run the place and sent the housekeepers for english....the school is close to...time out restaurant..and lots of good sodas...shopping and just down the street from the big bus conglomeration...and all the buses to town and back..75 cents ....super safe during the day....easier than bucking traffic and logistics of cutting across the pista and cabs back and forth to courtyard etc is to stay in the glutch and ride the bus and get off a few blocks from the school in escazu...then back on the bus after school or hang around escazu central ...walk down to mas por menos and scotia bank...or get one of the taxis at the park in central escazu to multiplaza etc...a week will go by super fast with school and all...
