The Dunn Inn is a great place!! On my last stay I forgot to tip the maid, so I mailed the tip from the States and I just recieved a very nice handwritten letter from the Dunn Inn thanking me. That was very nice!

Brother Zunbake's Post shows 2 things--(1) that he's a mensch who doesn't forget the little people and (2) how terrific and well-run the Dunn Inn is. Congrats to both. I wouldn't stay anywhere else and am glad to call Zunbake3 "Brother".

It was very nice of you to mail a tip for the maids. We have an incredible group of hardworking and friendly maids. They have been thrilled at the graciousness of our CRT guests.

Nice. Definitely good idea to tip the maid. They work hard to clean up our shit.

The real miracle is that the money reached the Dunn Inn. The CR postal system is horrendous, there are no addresses, and the postal workers open (steal) things that are valuable (like money).

I think we all plan to tip the maids and also many of the lady guests we have over at our rooms.
We also tip bartenders and waiters/waitress.

But what is usually done by the brothers for the front desk staff who do the reservations and take care of lots of little details for the guests ? If they are really helpful during your stay do they too deserve a little gift or some thing ?

Any thoughts on this ?

I think that the desk staff at our hotels get paid abit more than the maids etc ...
I would say a modest tip to them if they went way beyond their normal tasks for you

With that said.... Everyone that works at the Dunn Inn is a team player with a goal to make all guests happy... the little guy in the jumpsuit fixed my shoe ( BK says he is wise ass, must be why I like him)

SL is much the same

I have to agree with Orange about the mail

I had a friend mail me a letter from San Jose to see how long it took.... two months

About the front desk staff--consider buying a bouquet of flowers for their area. Available reasonably priced near the Mercado Central. Just a thought...And for the jumpsuit guy, how about a roll of duck tape? Not totally a joke (remember I'm in maintenance).
